just a quick update:

*talked to Kyle at NWF, got everything going...got my doubler, 203 rebuild kit, 3:1 lo max, etc. will wait on my triple shifters until i set up my clocking position :eek1:

I hope you have better luck getting your stuff quicker then i did with northwest fab. dont get me wrong there doubler is the best out there, but it took over 6 weeks to get my doubler and then they didnt send the insructions, so i had to print them out my self, then my triple sticks never came with the boots like they said, just got the double boot in the mail last week.I order my doubler in january and they have no instructions on how to put the shifter and brackets and cables together, (still never recieved the other boot)you just have to figure it out your self, they keep telling me they are working on instructions for the shifters. your going really low on the gear ratio, you will definatly be crawlin!!! you would be fine with just a stock 205 with the 5:89 gears, didnt know if you was on a budget. your starting off with a great looking blazer, cant wait to see it done!

shoot i hope so as well...:eek1: ...Kyle & Jordan have been helpful so far so i hope that doesn't get shot to hell...yea i know they have their doubler instructions on their site...they don't seem hard to retrieve tho...i'll make sure to get my shifters with the boots, thanks for the heads up...yea hope to be crawlin like a slug...:haha: ...5.86sX3.06X6=a slug...i'll still have 2:1 & 3:1 tho just to make things challenging...:D ...

UPDATE:
already received my SKY & ORD stuff, as well as the wiring harness...still waiting on steering column & NWF stuff...looking for a motor...passed up a bbc that i just couldn't get my hands on because of $...but i'm looking at a LT1 supercharged motor or keeping my 350 & running it on propane...just not sure how the supercharged one would work on a trail rig...will probably have my tranny by sunday {but still have to build it}...hopefull by next week i can order my inserts for the H1s to get 'em to work on the boggers...probably by the time i get my NWF stuff, i'll have the tub back on with the rolling chasis, can't freakin' wait...

...got my stuff in...Sky x-member {thanks to Lucas for letting me steal his idea for the 52" spring swap}...my hysteer stuff...wiring harness & 7" shackles from ORD...as well the greaseable bushings...so hope to start getting things together soon...need to grind a crap load of rivets still tho :doah: ...

YOU DIDNT STEAL THE IDEA FOR THE 52" HANGERS. YOU ARE JUST USING A GREAT IDEA FROM SOMEONE ELSE! i have one of these hangers in my shop that a guy had on his 85 k5. its been sitting here for a few months and i havent seen the guys for just as long, im thinking about using it myself. but with the condition of my frame now, im going to use a 74 frame for my 72. ive been looking for another 69 to 72 for months and cant find one, the 74 frame was free and its in good shape. time to start modifying.

ok ok, i'm just borrowing it. :haha: i'll be using the same 72 frame. hopefully i don't run into too much trouble.

we went wheelin' at flat nasty offroad park in Jadwin Missouri last weekend. ive been running my 79 bronco in tough trucks and been doing alot of trail riding with it, till i get my blazer started and done, but after being there all weekend and rubbing the doors and sides cause of narrow trails i started thinking full size isnt the way to go if i want to have alot of fun without trashing my rig. so i started thinking of doing a jeep! pretty bad huh? well after thinking of what i could do to keep my blazer project alive, i started thinking!!! after the smoke cleared out, i have a great idea. ive already had planned with the tapering of the front and rear of the body, and i planned on narrowing the body on the sides with not putting the rocker panels on, so that would give me 3" on each side naorrower, then i plan oncutting the insides of the fenders out to push them in as far as i can to matchbody line without the rocker panels. i plan on cutting some of the outter firewalls to do this. but the idea i have now is, since im just starting with the firewall and windsheild frame, i might as well cut out about 10" of the center and weld it back together. the blazer will be just as narrow as jeep. might look funny , but might look cool! im still going to taper, but not as much now, since the whole body will be narrowed! i also plan on shroting the wheel base as well. what ya think, should i go with it, to keep my blazer project alive?

I think it sounds bitchen. Anybody can wheel a jeep. I have often thought about doing that myself but my current 72 it already to beat and mangled to be worth trying to save any body panels.

sorry RGV72BLAZER for getting off on another subject then your build! just thought i would give you my idea on the narrowing, your tub is in good shape from what i see of it, but maybe you might think about this idea as well! you could take out 7 to 12 inches, the more i think about it the more i think this will be cool!! and heres some pics of mine, the before(2002) and the after (2006) it was changed over so much in the few years that it live again, it started with custom dana 80s front and rear then went to rockwells to dana 60s. it was a nice blazer, but now im takin off whats good and the rest to going to the scrap yard.

holllly crap man, that's your Blazer...   ...i remember it was the August 2002 issue?...not sure on the year but i do remember the month...lol...there were quite a few stories about K5s in that one...i have a photo album of pics of my Blazer & put the pics of your Blazer from the magazine in there as inspiration...:D ...really sweet rig...on your idea, i'm more of a full size guy & although i know i'll probably end up bashing up my K5, i just won't give into the jeep trend...for now i'll stick with just narrowing the fenders, but i'd like to see your idea, that would be sweet...build something different

no jeremy still owns and runs custom differentails. he has mud bashs about 4 to 5 times a year there he has rock crawling comps there as well. i bought the tub and frame from him and put all my stuff in it. i put 60s and a 700hp fuel injected big block with 44 tsl and a doubler. i finished what jeremy started! DESTROYING IT! lol. he lost interest in the blazer and started on a rock buggy. and its bad ass! its got 49" irocs on it here is a pic of it. he knows his stuff when it comes to axles, there isnt much he cant do!
