That is a ridiculous price - time to get some plate, a torch, and learn to weld

- did you see my new Rock Ring I built for my Blazer? All bling baby!!!

i think it may very well be time for me to learn. & i won't be learning alone, i could get a certified professional welder to teach me...hopefully for free...it's good having in-laws in some cases :D ...haven't seen your rock ring, post a pic

Dude!!!! That price is out of control..
Wish you were local I would hook you up!!!!
$2100 Maybe he meant a new boxed frame!! haha

Yeah you can your certified welder friend to show you on this frame, that way on your next frame you can weld it yourself! LOL that would work for me!
A guy I know was trying to talk me into using and 88 or newer half ton frame for my blazer. He said thats what he is going to his next blazer. Seems like to much work for me.

Did you paint the leaf springs with can of spray paint or did you use spray setup like you were painting body? Also, I am dis-assembling my leaf springs and there is athin white plastic pieces between the springs. Do I need to replace that. My first project, if you couldn't tell!!!

knock your self out..

My 2cents:
Not knowing what you want in boxing your frame, it's impossible to know if $2100 is a good deal or not. If a fabricator is a certified welder who has 7 years experience building Baja 1000 Trophy trucks and 10 years experience building Winston/Nextel Cup cars; I'd say that's a steal. However, if he's a welder working at a trailer parts store or a weekend hobby welder like me, then that would be a highly questionable price quote.

When I built my race car to race in central NV I lived in San Diego, CA where I had a shop that builds baja trucks do my 10 point rollcage. That's where I got my first taste of what REAL welding is all about. Now that I'm married with kids, I can't go spending that kind of money on my projects ( that rollcage cost me $18,000.:eek1: ) So I too, took up welding to do most of my own work. The rewards of seeing your own work completed is priceless.:D

BTW, a 4+ point rollcage with triangulation will really stiffen-up your frame/chassis. The more triangulation, the stiffer it becomes.

not a certified welder, but he has been welding a long time. however, i just can't justify spending that much just to box the frame. maybe i won't even box the frame, who knows. lol. i was thinking of getting a 10 pt cage since i'll have a back seat for my son with good triangulation to protect our brains. :D
