My 2cents:
Not knowing what you want in boxing your frame, it's impossible to know if $2100 is a good deal or not. If a fabricator is a certified welder who has 7 years experience building Baja 1000 Trophy trucks and 10 years experience building Winston/Nextel Cup cars; I'd say that's a steal. However, if he's a welder working at a trailer parts store or a weekend hobby welder like me, then that would be a highly questionable price quote.
When I built my race car to race in central NV I lived in San Diego, CA where I had a shop that builds baja trucks do my 10 point rollcage. That's where I got my first taste of what REAL welding is all about. Now that I'm married with kids, I can't go spending that kind of money on my projects ( that rollcage cost me $18,000.

) So I too, took up welding to do most of my own work. The rewards of seeing your own work completed is priceless.
BTW, a 4+ point rollcage with triangulation will really stiffen-up your frame/chassis. The more triangulation, the stiffer it becomes.
