72 burb (this is why i can't go to salvage yards)

It is. He has several older burbs out there.

Any idea what year it is? I'm looking for some interior pieces and in your neck of the woods they might not be as bad as anything I can find here.

Looking forward to your build

There is nothing special about keeping these things origin color. Paint it a color you like.

I agree with going with what you like, but a lot of time the factory colors were good choices and still are. I love seeing these things in the original colors.

I think the original colors are a lot different than modern colors...kind of the "what's old is now new again" thing. Some of those greens and blues are just amazing...and I am partial to white trim on the older ones.

I will look at it next i am out there. He has a good number of suburban in the lot.

Cool, thanks! The pieces I'm having the hardest time finding are the front door wood grain trim panels from a '75-'76. Everything around here has been destroyed by the sun (fading or flaking)

are they the same as a Blazer for those years?

They will be the same in the Blazer, Suburban, and pick ups, but must be '75-'76 since '73-'74 were different

LMC started selling the trim panels a couple years ago:

I know, but they're not the same, that's closer to how the '73-'74 look. I've managed to find the side rear passenger door panels for my truck in excellent condition, so I'd like to find the front door panels to match. Should look like the one below (one of the side rear passenger ones). I've got the gauge bezel to match and found the ac vent dash trim on eBay I'm probably going to get. Just need the front driver's and passengers doors now.

Sorry for hijacking the thread

So I went by to see if the suburban was ready to come home today and noticed there was now a transmission in the back of truck. Salvage yard promised it had an engine and transmission in it. Well upon further inspection the 350 was there and complete but no trans. Salvage yard owner put what he thought was the stock transmission back in there. Its a vintage powerglide. Wonder if I should tell him? Hahahahaaaa! Guess since in not using any of it it really doesn't matter. I just thought it was funny. So it looks like I have a 350/powerglide available.

So my buddy with the wrecker flatbed has been busy as crap and I got impatient. Drove the diesel suburban in to pick up the 72 suburban. Something poetic about that. Noticed lots of new little things. Like it has all of the original jack components intact. It also has an under dash 8 TRACK PLAYER!!!!. Its aftermarket but I vow to mAke it work in the truck again. I ha sent seen an 8 track in a coons age but my truck will once again be rocking it. Ha!
