72 Custom/20 on Rocks, new pics.

A bit more info on the truck. As you can see in some of the photos I have a bit of a paint problem. The fine folks who painted the truck the last few times did a wonderful job, apparently they hadn't heard of scuffing up the bare metal so the 18 gallons of bondo they put on the bed side to hide the patch job they did. They also didn't scuff the back of the cab as you can see. I popped the paint of the cab with a putty knife and my finger nails. I can't wait to dig into the rest of the body and find the rest of the grate things they did a half arss job on. :angry1::flipoff1:

Some of the parts I've been collecting for the past couple months. The new stainless twin stick kit with boot, the cross tied shackles I built, the Diy4x flush mount kit and my latest invention two inch zero rate blocks with a little angle to them for the pinion.

Little update. I got some time to work on the the truck this weekend while the primmer was drying on a customers truck I'm working on.
I didn't like the rear shackle angle so I took the shackle flip brackets off and moved them back a little over an inch until they hit the rivets of the stock re cross-member. I also installed the new 2.5 inch zero rates I built and it lifted the rear a little higher than what I wanted so they mite be coming back out.
I also got the other set brushed and painted.

Thanks for the Woot Ashman.

A new thing showed up from the Brown truck today.:woot: If your asking what the hell is that, its the end cap for the steering box for the hydro assist.
Also received the 7/8 18 rod ends for when I build the new tie rod to handle the assist.

Update

Well after working on everyone rigs I finally made a little progress on the ol girl.
I finally got the rear end put back together after I made another set of zero rate blocks, the two inch ones I made didn't work out so well.
I painted two of the H2 wheels but had to stop progress to have the 37x12's Cooper Stt's mounted that I picked up for $150 and a friend mounted them for free. There only about 30-40% tread but they'll work for now.
I also picked up a divorced NP205 and a 205 with a PTO take off that came into work. Have to love working for a scrap yard. I'm not sure if the divorced one is going in this truck but it would be a heck of a lot cheaper than the over priced adapter from AA.
I'll post more pics of her sitting on all four later.

Looks cool to me!! Am I seeing the color correct? It looks like the copper-brown that they had. My Dad's '72 Cheyenne came that color with white for the 2nd color. He bought his brand new and I have lots of great memories with that truck!!
Of course you guys keep making my little 33's look tiny, but my new ORD/Alcans have so much flex even with the shocks limiting both ways that I don't know if I can go up in size without lots of rubbing! ( the fenders that is)

Thanks. As far as I know its a Root Beer Brown with gold flake it it. I've never seen another rig with the same color but it could be out there.
I haven't had the chance to flex her out much yet so I don't really know how much the 37's are going to rub. Also the the front fender horns are trimmed a little to help with this on my truck.

Here's the story after the pics. I was looking at the local craigslist when I stumbled upon these, three rocks for a grand. After trying to trade with the guy and getting turned down I scraped up the money and borrowed a truck from work to go get them with. I paid the guy an extra forty bucks to use his tractor to load them for us. Unloading them in the front yard was an adventure too. We pushed the front into the garage last night and started cleaning all the dirt and crap off of it. Now I just have to sell the stuff from my collection to pay for parts for them.
