the aux battery tray has fresh paint. Was in the vice to make sure nothing slipped or got gouged.
Looks like we are both racing to never finish our blazers. Lol
So in a race like that..... is the person in the lead winning, or losing?

Mine MIGHT make it on the road by this summer, and by on the road I mean on my trailer headed back to my house. Might.
I currently own three GM products and one Jeep, not a terrible ratio.
All kidding aside, if you get it going by this summer, I will be super jealous.
I don't recall but I think you live near me, Shavano area perhaps? I'm in Castle Hills right off NW Military so if you do live in that area, I'll likely see you cruising by occasionally.

Been a little quiet as I was focused more important stuff. Now that I have some free time back, I spent another $1200 on parts. Waiting for stuff to show up... 
7/7/14 - Wiring. The engine fire some 5 years ago did a number on a large part of the engine compartment wiring. Between that and some of the Mickey Mouse wiring I've seen on this truck (see pic below), I decided to scrap it and start clean. Ordered an American Autowire kit based on a recommendation from so fellow local hot rod guys.
The current Painless underdash birdsnest, er, harness. Not a single soldered connection to be found.

7/20/14 - Electrical and stuff - Made a decent amount of progress this weekend. Got my driveline brake from High Angle Driveline. Lead time was longer than expected. But, it's well put together.
Then started on the electrical fun. Ripped out all the old wiring. It was a complete mess. Left the new wiring hanging up in the garage to help the wires relax and uncoil. The ladder rungs made for nice separators to keep it all organized.
Got the dash all wired up including the gauge harness. Came out super clean.
Need to borrow some of the correct crimpers to tackle the engine harness and rear end wiring. Should go go pretty quickly though.

UPDATE 9/21/14 - Trapped in electrical purgatory. Feeling like just about all I've done for the past couple of months has been electrical related. The AAW kit has gone very smoothly and I'm just about done. Need to wire in a few relays (2 fans and fuel pump) and then I can start on the FAST harness. Hopefully that should be mostly plug and play.
Since nobody likes a bunch of words, I'll throw up a few pics that I've managed to get in while wiring. There's not much exciting about wiring pics...
So.... Sent the headers off to get ceramic coated by a local guy. Coated inside and out. Came out awesome.
Moved the fuel pressure gauge too. Wasn't liking how it was hiding inside the frame rail.
Put on a 7 quart Milodon pan. Who doesn't need a little more oil capacity?
Hopefully more postworthy progress coming soon...
