'72 K5 - AJ's Gray Matter Build

It’s a little known fact that you can avoid death wobble by simply yanking the front end off the pavement with a heavy application of throttle.

Give it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised.

So, you're saying I shoulda done more wheelies?

Spent most of Friday getting the front ball joints done. No pics.

Got all the leaks under the engine squared away. But, now the master cylinder is leaking. Going to replace with a Wilwood master. And go back the 9" dual diaphragm booster... it's a bear getting the valve cover off with the one ton booster. No plans for hydroboost at this time. Gotta call Wilwood tomorrow to see what bore on the master they recommend.

Looks great! I might take out my pressure sensor with a block off fitting. Did you take out the stock proportioning valve?

I didn’t have a plug on hand so I left the pressure sensor in for now.

I took the original prop valve out when I did the disc conversion. No reason to run both.

I really like that instrument bezel. Where did it come from?

I got it from a vendor here when I bought the gauges. I don't think he's around anymore unfortunately. Classic Industries Thunder Road cluster, if I remember correctly.

Ok so looks looks like you did 1/4" tubing for front and rear then to a T at each end. I used the 2 front ports on the Wilwood prop. valve to each brake line on front but either way works. Really nice and clean 1st gen K5 you have!

No, I’m 3/16 tubing from the prop valve to the tees
