well it made the licence plate light work and blinkers, but no power to the tail or brake lights still.

Check your grounds.

I think the taillight / brake light gets its ground from a small wire in the housings themselves. If the body shop disconnected those for paint and never reconnected you might be in luck. Also, even if they ARE attached, it's worth taking them off and cleaning the metal really well to insure a solid ground. Then spray a quick shot of paint over the top to protect it from rust and corrosion in the future.

Chasing electrical gremlins sucks, but fortunately the 1st Gens only have about 4 wires to run the whole vehicle! :haha:

I got everything on passenger side working and on the drivers I still need brakes and turn. The drivers I had to change the socket out to a universal part so that may be the problem . Close enough to drive, but I don't have the weather for that.

THERE IS A MAIN REAR HARNESS CONNECTION (Caps stuck, sorry) inside the firewall .When you replaced the headlight switch you may have disturbed it some how. It goes thru the fire wall near or just to the right of the steering column. You could back trace it underneath it goes down the drivers side frame. Take a 12V pick light and see where the power stops.

What size rims are the white steel wheels

Hello
Could you tell me what size the white steel wheels are. I like the way they look.

Onalaska they are the original 15".

Couldn't break down and spend the money on EFI system but I can't take the 43 year old carb I have now.
