72 k5, sons first truck build.(officially NOT mine now..)

I havent even gotten to sit down and see how he's really feelin about maybe losing his truck. he was on his way to go camping and his mom took him the rest of the way. I'll see tonight and talk to him about our options.

Right now im hoping that if its totaled I can buy it back and have enough left over to get the one i found sittin in the grass. should be enough there to make 1 out of 2

That sucks, but fortunately no one was seriously hurt.
Stand firm with the insurance company. Get all your receipts together and prepare for a fight. They are going to try and lowball you, especially since it is "old".

Sorry about the truck man. I'm glad the boy is ok. Good luck with everything coming up.

Sorry... no pics yet. I dont have a cord for her camera. remedied that by buying a new camera for me:D I'll get some as soon as i get home. cameras charging.

It's not looking good from what I can see at this point.

Another first gen bites the dust. Glad no one was hurt. Hope you get what it's worth. Maybe take some eBay or Craigslist listing similar to yours also so you can show what replacement will be. If you can buy it back for a good price at least you still have some decent parts.

Yeah itll be bout back for sure. There isnt even 500 miles on the engine/tranny yet. or the tires even for that matter.. I may have to buy a new wheel for one corner though. it took a direct hit. doesnt seem bent or cracked but I dont wanna chance it a dont think

Look at the picture of the front of the front bumper. the bottom of the grille/bodyline didnt move. bumper is still attached securely to the end of the frame. plus not in these particular pics if you look down the side of each body line the whole front clip scews to the driver side about 3". drivers side core support mount is still in perfectalignment with the frame. means the frame moved over. in the pic by the back wheel..... if you look close, its looking flat down the back wheel and the front wheel stands out about 6" past the back one. passengerside pic will come tonight. but you cant even SEE the front wheel from the same angle on that side. if you look closely at the side view front wheel pic the frame kinks sorta right infront of the tire
