Sold '72 K5 windshield frame

Well I found a box and got it cut down to fit. I got a quote from FedEx of $205!!!!!
Wow!!!
It only weighs 30lbs, but the dimensions hurt it.
I will see what other options there are, but I am sorta scared of sending it regular truck freight.
If that's the best price for shipping, or it's a hassle to find a better price, I'll still take it.

Great! I will try to see what else may be out there.

Do you want to consider cutting it down?
I cut it right at the top of the dash, so it is just about 23" tall. I did find out that there are reinforcements at that level.

The box that I have it in now measures 68"x10"x 26".

Not to put a kibosh on the deal, but at that price for shipping you are approaching the price of a new one.

Now that they make them it makes sense to go that way unless the price is right.

No harm in my book Josh.
I had no idea that they were available.
But I bet that as we have found with my son's '72 truck, the reproduction stuff isn't the same, and fit is sub-par.
I will see what avenue I can find.

Mine was the 73, i guess between the shorter box, and less metal so lighter weight, mine was 68x16x6 22lbs

The UPS website says $189. Maybe they will actually be cheaper???
Trying to come up with a connection to ship it from a business .....

So just to find out, I checked rates in the UPS website, and I found that the best way to lower the price is to get the height down to 20". That shows to be where the break is. It dropped the price to $83 , IIRC.
Narrowing from 10" to 8" didn't do much at 26", and that is as shallow as I would go with the curve it has.
@ekajkrats do you believe that is worth losing 4" off of the A pillars?

I think 4" off will be fine. I was just looking at @sponsoredbydad windshield header replacement for inspiration and his looks to be pretty far up, so it should be good lopping 4" off. Maybe throw the pieces in the box if theres room if I need some patch material. If that works. Really appreciate you going through this work to find cheaper shipping.
