So what's the point in the vent tube? Is it to keep it from stalling or vapor locking or something?

The bowl need a vent to prevent vacuum, and the tube he made connects both sides for preventing fuel from sloshing around and falling in the throttle body and still getting air from the tiny holes he drilled.
It's pretty much what Holley did with their truck avenger.

exactly.

Almost every video i have tried to make results in my truck flooding and then having to wait for it to clear out before i can start it agian. Its annoying not to mention dangerous. I hope this fixes it.

this the truck avenger. Edelbrock carbs are bowls on the sides instead of front and rear, but same deal

Have you thought about converting to TBI?

Martin

I have.

I have looked around and found a few people parting tbi setups for around 150-200. Then i just need to do the mods to the harness, add the associated sensors, o2 in the exhaust, elec fuel pump, then get a chip burned.

It is something i want to do, but right now the 500 or so bucks i need for it isnt in my cards.

Why do you need to burn a chip?
Do you have big mods on your engine?
Most TBI swaps I have seen only cost the $150 for the TBI stuff from the donor and the welding of the bung for the O2 sensor?
:dunno:

only mod im aware of are my headers.

I just assumed that i needed a chip since everyone gets one. :dunno:

No, it should run fine on the factory tune. Will run better than the carb either way.

Further down the road, if you want it to run better, take it to someone who has a dyno, and have them burn the chip. A dyno tuned chip will be head and shoulders above a mail order chip.

Martin

yes and no.

Im having some issues with it atm, there was bunch o crud in the carb that keeps getting stuck on the seat and causing the bowl to overflow.

will be cleaning it out and then testing it

Chris, what is it with you and crossovers? First you invent the Norcal Crossover Steering, now you've invented some kind of carb crossover tube. Norcal Carb Crossover? You da man!!! :woot:

Sounds expensive....

Did I tell you I crapped a wheel bearing?
I was on the freeway, and BAM! Death wobble!

It was fun! :D

Not too bad, 89 bucks shipped. Supposed to last forever so well worth it.

Lol at killin a wheel bearing. musta backed off on preload or something. Didnt you just replace those?

That's not bad at all, especially if they last forever! :thumb:
