ambition is being confused with necessity and vanity. i need a tow rig (for my other toys) and I don't want a "2007 Dodge Ram" like everone else drives around here. to see a 40 year old truck on the roads as a DD is pretty unheard of here. i'm gonna be a trend setter :waytogo:

Plus nothing get chicks like a cool ride...ask me how i know (and don't tell my wife) J/K

rear bumper is coming off tomorrow so i can replace the lower rear quarter panel on the passenger side. I have to grind off the bolts to remove the bumper and am expecting the bumper needs replacing. anyone got a 2nd gen chrome bumper in good condition for sale close to central/western NY? :dunno:

Also got the divers side cut prepped and inner panel painted so i can start the wheel arch and rear quarter on that side as well. then some interior welding and finally a sh!t ton of filling and sanding.

was welding in the drivers side wheel arch and wouldn't you know it... ran out of wire!!! (was thinking about going to get some yesterday but no driving after having a drink"s") gonna get some more today after work and then it's onto welding up the interior of the bed to the cab. pics up soon.

drivers side is almost there

Still need to manipulate the lower quarter panel around the tail lens contour and finalize the welds around all the sheet metal. Also gotta figure out what i'm gonna do with that hole in the side just behind the fuel door.

Only if you lambo the doors. All the doors......

Including the gas filler doors.

WORD!! gonna Lambo the 2 unused fuel cap doors! gotta keep my pimp hand strong! HAHA

might actually turn them into little storage units for like snow chains or something if i decide to box in the back half...

sometimes i forget that i'm stubblin a fine line between redneck n white trash.

exterior welding of the bed to the cab is 99% complete! gotta center a few points then weld in the interior, fab up some new rear body mounts, then secure the rear end. then its's on to filler neck placement and interior welding of the bed to the cab. gettin wicked stoked the weather is here for me to really get back to work :D

think i found a source for the 2nd gen recessed fuel filler neck/cap sheet metal. that lil chingaderra that lets the fuel cap sit flush to the bed. buddy of mine is willling to cut it out of the quarter panel and send it to me to weld into place. if he bails on the idea anyone know where i can get it aftermarket. LMC and most common places i've already checked. ideas?:dunno:

You want a fuel cap on the side of the vehicle, not a fuel door with a cap behind it?

Try brothers, or classic truck. I think I saw some in their catalogs the other day.

Heck even try chevys of the 40's. Yes I realize your rig is newer but the filler neck may be pretty close to same as when they still put the tank behind the seat. Isn't it one of those Chevy parts that they used for everything.

yep thats a big Negatory brother... yes they are universal but they only come with the rest of the sheet metal round it that i can't really use or resell once i hack it to pieces and they are pricey. if push comes to shove then i do have an option, just looking for a cheaper option. like 3am at the bar, i'll take what i can get :woot:but if that don't happen at least i have an option. thanks

put a fresh coat of flat black on the top this weekend, and polished up the chrome on the roof rack. the wifey did not think that was a very good mothersday present no matter how hard i tried to spin the "I did it for you, baby" angle
