so i got the tank set up in the frame rails. FYI, use a little duct taped rolled back on itself to hold the tar paper in place. Also be sure you hook the fuel lines up to the sending unit before you lift the tank up. it's a tight squeeze once it's up there and would be a bitch to do with out seeing what your doing. all in all, a 2 on the 0-10 difficulty scale.

Took a few days to tear into my other lil project and get her ready for this winter. mostly cosmetic painting, and a seasonal tune up/carb cleaning. 80 TXL 340. lil f#cker rips! Oh yeah, this thing should look sweet behind my 73 Orange K5!

Can I just say that your color choice is totally Batmobile :haha:

On the other hand, orange is popular here ... more than a few trucks with it, my big block is done up in it, etc.

I know, I know.... not a sled forum. but it does directly relate to my K5 as the Sled and the Trailer are built solely to be trailered by my 73. these pics show the salt shield i'm building to prottect the sled. the shield is actually the very front panel of a chevy P/U bed, I thought it would transition well from truck to trailer to sled.

As soon as i can get a buddy to come help me move the rear of the K5 around i'll be putting the fire stick back to it. (any takers, central NY, that wanna work for beer and steak)

If I wasnt in cal I would be all over that! :woot::doah:

Slightly off-topic, I am convinced that spray paint cans breed like coat hangers. I have half-used cans of colors and textures I *know* I would not buy, so they can only exist because cans I *did* buy got busy in the back of the shed and had their illegitimate children there on the shelves.

Dude! :haha:

Mine breed too.... Cuz I KNOW I didn't buy fuchsia.... :haha:

i know a few currier services that a buddy of mine has used before to pick up projects from states away. now i'm not trying to foce a free roll bar out of you, just saying there are movers out there. i go to another forum where guys are constantly selling sleds back n forth from maine to washington and they use the same type of service.
