73 K20....crossmember time

I can't talk too much crap, it took me 6 months to put my Hydro-assist stuff on :doah::haha:

Haha yeah i know how it goes! I played with the welder some last night and im getting better. Im hoping to get my skill level up and get those sliders on. Maybe ill prep the frame this weekend and do some mock up! :D

I'm right there with you guys, my winch has been on the floor under the workbench in my garage since April.

Looks like you had a great time man! I'd love to get up to Hollister Hills someday.

I kinda miss HH after looking at these pics. We would cut school, pickup some keystone Ice, 50 tacos and head out there all the time. All too often we would be stuck there past dark because some J-Ass broke their junk

Yeah its a club lol! Definitely a good time. I wont let K85 come back up here without going to hollister. Theres a lot more to do there than in the past. I could see spending the weekend there. There was a burban out there that caught 3-4 feet of air...really wish i got pics.

Its been getting better and better. Apparently a few years ago there was a lot less to wheel there but with the top truck challenge and more visitors, they keep adding to the park. It looks like they have land to expand on too. I cant wait to go back. We hit some gnarly little trails and got a lot of pin striping but it was worth it. I vow to get my GoPro working for the next trip. Sounds like a good time you had there! Yeah we took a couple black diamond trails at about 6pm and i was done. Im not fond of getting stuck past daylight.

I spaced out on the box of stuff i owe you. Got it packaged up last night and ill send it out shortly.

The obstacles you're showing I don't remember at all, then again last time I was there was 1997sh. Back then we had a small obstacle course, mud pit and lots of rutted hill climbs that brought on the ass pucker.

No worries, doesn't look like I'll be on a trail before mid September anyway :doah:

Yeah its vastly improved. I hope to return within the next few weeks!

Wheres the first trip? i vote the con!

camping trip up near Fordyce. Same one we go on every September...... I might hit Rubicon again after that trip.

Nice. Even getting through the rubicon im not sure if im ready for fordyce. Its a few notches above the rubicon in terms of difficulty.

I may give it a try later next month but i need to get more time on the rig and do some upgrades.

Im feeling pretty good about my spring setup now!

We made it up hill top climb which was pretty steep. It confirmed that my carb rebuild made a big difference. No stumbling at all.

Rick decided to jump in this little ravine. I dont remember why i didnt follow but it was cool to watch.

All done for the day!

looks good all twisted up....

now that you have a welder you need to put some damn shocks in the rear :D

No shocks:eek1:

C'mon man.

I did have a buddy blow a ring gear from hopping too much in the rear due to no shocks.

Yeah shes doing pretty good now. Way better with the overloads. I know...no more excuses! I plan on going to get a stick of material to build a removable inboard shock kit.

I know i know. I suck haha! Its pretty bouncy. Its sad that people with honey-do lists get more stuff done on their trucks! I should go down town friday and get material.

Yeah i hop a bit but i get out of it when it starts to prevent breakage. I do need 5.38's though :haha:

4.10's IIRC

You got it.

Its not terribly bad. Certainly taxing but not so much that im breaking parts...yet. The 208 with the 700r4 is pretty low.

The goal for the winter is 5.38s, sm465/205 and maybe tbi. That would vastly improve the strength and capability of the truck. Well see what happens. Im debating on regearing before then with the down time (jeep jambronees). My front seals are leaking badly, which may just be from over filling but if i take it apart im going to stick that front locker in which means i should do gears at the same time since my carrier needs to be pulled.

Right now i have some other things i need to tackle like the previously mentioned lack of shocks in the rear lol.

Im also starting school in a month so we'll see what effect that will have.

Unless you are planning on a doubler, go for an SM465/NP208 (or better yet, and NP241) as opposed to an SM465/NP205.

Thats the second time ive heard that. Ive had great luck with my 208 so far. The plan is to do a doubler...which may happen before the 205 even goes in.

The new CNC machine at work is getting data cables to it as we speak........time for 203 205 adapters lol

I'll take one. THANKS

Haha ill let you know what i come up with. Ive found someone with drawings already. Theres no way in hell ill pay $700 for an adapter. Ill likely pay for the in between shaft since i dont need to reinvent the wheel there and its only $250 i think.
