73 K20....crossmember time

So you're running fuel lines now?

When's it going to fire off?

Yeah. I'm burned out on working on the cage. Trying to figure out what I need to fire it, which is not much.

I'm a little confused on what I'm going to do with the exhaust. I may just jerry rig it for the short term.

I may try to do some wiring this weekend. Maybe I can fire it within the next few weeks. That would put some wind in my sails.

I guess you need some exhaust to break in the cam eh? I think it's walker that makes the crossover pipe that we talked about if you want to merge into a single pipe.

Yeah I mostly just want to hear if something isn't sounding right.

I wonder how close that piece is to fitting?

The seat sits further back, and reclines more. Which makes more headroom.

In which rig? Neither my short cab nor my Suburban seats recline (both benches). Intrigued, I took a tape measure out to the trucks tonight and measured from the pillar to the floor hump. Measurements were identical. The Suburban seat was further from the firewall, but it was further back in its track. The tracks both started at the same point back from the firewall.

In a k5.

Even with the half ass cage I had in mine I had quite a bit more room.

The bigger fill neck vent you can plug, that's for filling the tank at a pump. I would assume you need stay vented somehow, as originally designed so pressure doesn't build in the tank but I could be wrong. What kind of cap are you going to run?

If you want to get really fancy. Get a filter head and plain old oil or hyd filter and plumb all your vents to it. The semis I used to work on that haul coal use one filter head and filter and with a -4 hyd hose from each rear axle up to it.

Yeah definitely don't want to pressurize my tank again lol.

I'm thinking you're right...as far as the cap goes think ultra 4 sort of docking station. Found one that locks on summit. It's not the race style insert but something gas pump friendly.

You can just run some low pressure fuel hose to a metal 3/8 or 5/16 inline fuel filter and leave the other end if it open. Works great for axle breathers also.

OK that's a good idea...is it a one way kind of deal? I don't want to submerge a breather if it's not good.

The ford f550s at work have issues with sucking in water through the crappy vent on top of the tank so I run a fuel hose up into the bed with a filter on the end of it. Better than the stupid update kit ford wants to sell ya.

No but you can run it as high up as you want or maybe come up with some kinda check valve.
