73 K20....crossmember time

Still plugging away. I was going to crawl under the truck to see how the loose end of the titan box fits on the manual trans. I realized the trucks weight wasnt on the axle so decided not to get under it. I took the rear end outside for a pressure washing and I knocked off a few tabs. Also got the brake calipers washed so they can be put on. I'm not sure if the spring mounts will work so I left them on for the time being. So now I'm getting the truck back on the rear end so I can get the ol np208 out.

Minor update. Shits been hectic lately. As I mentioned I'm 3 weeks into a new job so theres that and I just had another military drill this last week. Theres also been a brutal amount of cold weather here. No fun working on stuff when you cant feel your face and hands. I did get the tmr inline mount in for the 205. Hopefully progress is right around the corner.

Out with the old. In with the new. Got the nwf titan blackbox 205 in. Had to use a come along to get the old tcase out...apparently the grey gasket maker is quite strong. Anyways I got some wind in my sails to finish this thing up and get out there to enjoy it.

Almost got it running too but the battery didnt enough ass to start it. So I'll need to source a new one. Not sure what to get yet. I've traced my steps with the wiring so I have some idea of what went where.

Also cut a giant ass hole in the cab for tcase access. Strongly considering making it removable for future maintenance.

Now that the case is in I need to get some flanges and build the rear end to measure for a rear shaft. Got new u bolts and spring perches coming from ruffstuff. The old u bolts will be spares. I also need to get a different bracket from jb fab for the doubler. I got the wrong one but could modify it if need be. I'd rather not since its stainless lol.

Lots of big things happening and I found motivation to get going on this. Expecting my first kid in February. A daughter. Good luck to me lol. Fixing up the house with some big projects and school too but I'm making good progress on the truck still.

Got a few goodies showing up. Some stuff from ruffstuff for the rear end and a flange for the 205 output from ord. I'll probably get another when I'm ready for the front. Going to try to get the correct bracket for my nwf blackbox today and

I've sourced a battery to try and start this thing....just need to go buy it. I had the fans come on as soon as the key turns over.. probably a precaution from when I was breaking the engine in so I need to edit that setting.

Aside from that I ordered some grinder wheels to finish up some rough metal around the frame. I'm sort of playing with the idea of welding in new sheetmetal for the floors. It doesn't have to be anything amazing but it would be nice seeing how I do have a few rust holes in the floors and the seat humps are way too high for a good seat location. Seems like 18 gauge is the way to go.

I used FiTech to trigger the fan relays.

I took a quick look at the fans before I left last week and saw they were wired to the fitech. I assume I'm getting around the derale system that way. I think I just have the fans set real low. Hopefully the new battery will allow me to look into it I absolutely hate having a battery around in a non driving vehicle lol.

Working on getting the right shifter bracket for the blackbox right now. Hopefully that'll get sorted out soon. Work and 2 classes plus just getting back from the field for the marines has made it tough to get any work done but I use the time I do have to research what I need next. I've been eyeballing the segmented truss from arctec. Expensive but it's in pieces so when I do decide to link the rear down the road it would only be another 200 bucks. Top pic is the truss I think I'll get with the incorporated yoke guard and the bottom is a fully built truss if I went links. Nice to have the option as opposed to one way or the other.

Found a battery at autozone I need to snag. 160 bucks I guess is a fair price nowadays.

Yeah batteries are not any way cheap these days. I buy all my batteries for work from my Cat dealer and have found that they are actually a pretty good price to me personally but it's one of those things you just gotta figure out where you can get the best deal in your area.

Just wanted to give a shout out to jb fab. John sent the correct bracket to me today for free....and it was my own mistake getting the wrong bracket. That's about as good as it gets!

In other news I'm hoping to get some work in on the truck here soon. This week has been insane. Calculus and c++ are trying to kill me.
