73 K20....crossmember time

Ordered a bunch of steel today for radiator fan mounts, the tcase support and then a box tube to complete the rear of the frame. I'll probably buy a weld in trailer hitch and mill the box tube open on both sides so I can weld both sides.

Painted the last bits of the 205 stuff today as well. Just waiting to dry to put seals in and bolt it all on.

I got the jb fab bracket i needed for the blackbox so were in business there.

Started filling the radiator back up again to run this thing. I might be able to score a free battery that's new from a friend so waiting to hear back on that before I burn $160.

I've been looking for some crossmember ideas but photobucket has been shutting down a lot of older images so not much out there.

Battery is getting picked up today. Hopefully i can here this turd run this weekend. That would really put some wind in my sails.

Wish i could work on it during the week but school is killing me. I've been getting up at 5am and going to bed at midnight lately...sucks.

The steel should be here too. I noticed half of it I had sitting in my garage...what a dummy. Oh well I'll end up using it anyway.

I have a rough idea of a crossmember build in my head which will hold up the 205. Once that's completed I'll take the trans one off and modify it so the drive shaft doesnt make contact. I was sort of thinking about cutting the oem one where the trans mounts and make a whole new crossmember with a hoop. That was I can still you standard poly mounts for the trans.

I try to make most of this shit something I can walk into autozone and get if need be.

Threw my old fenders in the landfill lol. Time to snag some round headlight . Working on getting a rad support tomorrow.

Had some issues today and couldnt get welding on the new crossmember...maybe tomorrow. Had to modify the shit out of the tmr bracket I have. Not too happy about that. I'm not sure if I need to reattach the last tab I had to cut off due to the shifter brackets hitting.

Correct. No midplate. Apparently with the shorter blackbox it's not needed. That's what I've hear anyway. That 32 spline 465 adapter is pretty solid.
Read the other link in that doubler Sticky. Stephen had input about t case mounting that’s relevant to your cause

I’d still prefer 4 bolts, but use grade 8 hardware if not

I think I cam reattach that 4th pretty easy. I need a longer bolt then I'll bolt it all up, add a bit of steel and tac it all together.

I'll check that out. I've been meaning to get the dimension of the cases to add to the sticky. Being that I have a titan shaft blackbox it's super short.

I wouldn’t hurt your brain reattaching that. Pretty sure I remember you adding new mounts on everything, it should move as a whole

Indeed. Everything is poly mounts now. It seems like I got the right idea with the single polymount supporting the 205. Then itll just be bolted to the frame rails.
