73 k5 blank slate

ive only tried to replace floor skins in an old FJ55. good times right there...

what i remember most is all the black boogers and rusty specs all over the toilet and shower pan!

when its done you will have that peace of mind knowing things are solid and tight
It's not been too bad so far except for this part of replacing a bad section of the box. I've hit my head about 27 times crawling in and out from under this thing

I got a paranoid feeling about whether the body had flexed before I welded in the brace on the driver's side so I put the top on and the passenger door and fortunately everything seems to line up. Both door gaps measure out the same so I think I'm allright. Going to start getting the floorpan panels in today

For @imiceman44 . These things are just fiberglass panels riveted together. I agree with you that you could just fab some 16 ga steel reinforcement tabs and rerivet probably with some epoxy with tow straps for compression. What do you think?

If it's completely separated and you can open it enough to stick a piece of metal reinforcement inside I would, even if it's only to stop side shifting and then you can fill the cracks with epoxy and sand the surface and use resin and woven silk fabric to finish the outside.
It can be done to look better than steel brackets.

yeah, i was going to put the metal on the inside
 
I will look in my books and see....I'd like to know the answer too. I'm pretty sure the roll bar was optional but you'd think the holes would be there whether they had the bar or not.
My 73 has no holes for any roll bar. In the floor or the sides
 
My 73 had the factory roll bar
I don't want to doubt you but what was the actual build date?
Everything I have seen so far has been late 1973, usually September or later, and that usually is the following year model.
Does it have the built-in plate with welded nuts or just through bolts?
74 and up had a reinforcement plate and welded nuts so it was structurally stronger and easier to mount, just bolt from the top
