74 dirty c rough weekend with a smile....

so i decided i need a decated hunting 4x4 capable of going places stock 4x4s wont. build thread here we go..... so I didn't get started with a blank slate. I got the Craigslist steal 1974 k5 set up with ord shackle flip ord shackles with ruff country springs with all grease able hardware. it had the 2 stick 203 witch was a big pain in the Ass... beard seats and a broken cb... the only thing wrong with it was I was told it had 4.56s and it has 4.10s.... but it's getting the job done
the first thing I did was get rid of the dry rotted and chewed up bfg mtrs. replaced them with goodyear mtrs and got a spare... so I made a spare tire carrier View attachment 207406

I ran her like that for awhile before I started have carb problems and thats when i met @sreidmx so i replaced the holley 600 with a truck avenger 670 we took out the mallory distributor... and still had problems20150210_165552.jpg 20150214_140252.jpgthe fuel pump was putting our 20 psi so I replaced that and still was putting out too much pressure...
so me and @sreidmx went to the offroad swap meet and I pick up a fuel pressure regulator and lockable center console

so then she was running pretty good....
 
then I had a little shopping to do trans cooler temp gauge 203 rebuild kit new trans mounts other trans gaskets with the money steve saved me I bought the aussie locker20160406_192955.jpg

got the 700 out and put the 350 in... I wish it was that easy nothing was lining up the exhaust was hitting the transfer case... the transmission mount was off.... it was another late night...
then my drive shafts didn't work.. so Steve got me some from @secutright and then the ujoint were wrong... then I got the wrong one again.. turns out it was a 1350 x 1310...
 
the following Friday @sreidmx calls me up and wanted to get a night run in... so I told home I wanted to put in some back lights... I cut a piece of 1xq square and stuck 2 double row 7 in led bars on it... got to steves and he put in my transmission temperature gauge before I got there and we just Self taped the bar on my tire mount and head to del taco....since I work outside all day I was pretty tired so Steve took the wheel... after getting him some food we headed to pioneer town only to get pulled over for running with the head lights off20160610_215047.jpgmy best attempt without drawing attention from the cop... do u know why I pulled up over.. Steve rreply was I assume it was because we didn't have the headlights on.... he let's us go after we admitted we were stupied
