75 Blazer Project

oh alright, my 205 is so covered in muck im not sure if its got a grease fitting there or not. any reason you didn't twin stick it if you needed to buy a shifter anyway?

When i bought the t-case it was already modifed for twin stick. I replaced the modified rails with some stock ones and used the stock adapter and Shifter. Its easier and cheaper right now. My main goal is to get her up and running than modify as needed if needed.

Actually i dont have the modified rails anymore. Traded them locally for the stock ones, but thats ok cause i saw what was modified. Easy to duplicate when ready.

Well today i bolted up my modified Crossmember. T-case bolted right up. I love fabing and modifying my own parts. Its so much fun to see it all work and come together.:D

So now i have to get some tranny lines. The ones from the tranny to the radiator. I will be picking those up at the local scrapyard tomorrow. Double check the electrical and get this engine fired up real soon.

Also have been looking into my Rear Driveshaft situation. I need to lengthen mine because of the 203 to 205 swap. So far $145 bucks to lengthen it. Still have to shop around.

Anyway to be continued.

What local scrapyard has lines? Do they have doors, dash, grille, or tailgate? haha
Actually picked up my Tranny lines today from Ecology on 27th ave. Got them out of a 75 Blazer. It still had its doors,Tailgate, dash, and grille. Don't know how funny that is but I was smiling to get what I needed.

Here are some Pics of my finish Engine Crossmember.

Need to install it, but looks like i will have to move the front axle because my drill does not fit between the frame and the front axle. Project for next weekend.:D

No I made it from the scrap I had left over from bagging my previous truck. Took me 3 months for fab and fitment, but it fits nice and tight. Yea I plan on lifting it, but priority is to get it running and driving.

Thanks, Its painted actually. Had some industrial Black Gloss paint from work. Very durable stuff.

Just for reference to help anyone doing a 203/205 swap. In reference to the crossmember. I used my stock 203 crossmember to mount my 205. What i did was cut the bolt holes out and move them about 1" towards the center of the Crossmember. I lined up the holes with the 205/th350 adapter and tack welded them into place. After removing the adapter i finish welded everything together and it lines up perfect. By using the stock 203 crossmember i take out the equation of figuring out which adapter bushings to buy or which bushing set-up to go with. I can use the stock 203 bushings which you can find anywhere. Sorry guys no pics of the Crossmember:crazy:. Just too busy to stop and take pics.

In reference to the driveshafts i am lengthening my stock rear drive shaft, and have a front driveshaft out of a 78 Ford F-250 that i got with a Ford 205 i picked up for free awhile back. The Ford drive shaft seems to fit i did a quick measurement and they were real close. Although the u-joints and flanges are different it may work. When i complete that part of my project i will list what i found here.

The Ford 205 had a yoke which i transfered to my Chevy 205, but i think i am going to get a flange from a 208 and go that route instead.

This weekend i started by cleaning some surface rust off my radiator support. Pretty nasty stuff i believe the rust was started from a leaking battery from the P.O. Nothing too serious although it did do some pitting.

Next i installed the Engine Crossmember i made. Fits great. I am happy with the outcome.

Next step is to buy new body bushings and get the Radiator support installed as well as getting the radiator put in so i can get her running.

Looks awesome! Nice work bro. :)

Thank You, Thank You :D

Well i must have caught the Convertible bug. I traded a Shotgun i didnt want for this 74 Blazer from a member here at CK5. This truck has some rust issues. I really have to go thru it to find out how bad it is. Originally a Utah truck and used as a snow plow as the PO explained to me. Can anyone from Utah tell be about the Rust situation in your state?

So my plan is to rob the 74 of the parts i can use for my 75 and convert it to 2wd to promote my online business but we will see. The body may be shot with Rust. Heres a pic. Might look familiar to some here.
