So i have a buddy who wants to do a rubicon run the weekend before memorial day. I think it would be better to go before the holiday weekend so there aren't so many broken jeeps in the way.

Does that work for you guys? i should be ready!

Weekend of May 16-17th correct? Yeah that works for me :D

I don't see any events on the Rubicon Calender so we shouldn't see too many broken heeps https://www.google.com/calendar/[email protected]

Have fun! I got confused as to where I should put the new thread. I think in trips but it seems like thats an after trip report kinda thing. ill figure it out!

We had a blast this weekend, didn't really do anything to hard. This was my first time out with a new group of friends, all toyota guys. We mostly bombed around fire roads. Was even able to find some really crusty snow

Amanda super excited to be out again....

We went to this awesome rock garden after it got dark and wheeled around a bit

Rock lights worked killer :waytogo:

Took my parents dog out with us, he was beat tired on the ride home.

It was a good trip. Got to meet a bunch of new friends and weel with them soon again. Some things to address that I have known since the last outing. The rear springs get a ton of axle wrap so much that they are bent, they are 4 leaf 52s. So I just picked up a set of 5 leaf 52's to hopefully fix that and it will need an antiwrap bar as well. The driver rear brake line also got pinched between the ubolt, so to fix it I'm going to run them over the springs as opposed to under how they are now.

Cool pics

Those rock lights could light up a stage

You may still need an antiwrap bar, those are some big tires :D

Did you do anything to the rear inner fenders to fit those tires? I think i may end up getting rid of my front inner fenders if it becomes an issue...

No, I just cut the rear wheel wells but left the inner untouched. they rub the inside a little every now and then. but it is just on a smooth surface. I wish i had front inner fenders, I'm trying to figure out the best way to get some in there. Its not too bad, when its really muddy it sucks but I try to avoid the mud as well.

Carnage, here is a picture of the pinched brake line. hopefully I'll be moving this tonight to above the springs.

Another picture of the brake line. the shock mounts are a little low as well

My springs don't look too happy either

Last night I got the new used springs pulled apart. tonight I'll wire wheel them clean and paint and hopefully throw them back together.

Got the new springs in and the sit a little higher. Now it doesn't have a lean anymore :thumb:
Old Packs out next to one new one

did the pass first

onto the drivers side

Next to my buddys project k10

Looking good! I just got 56s! Which leafs are you using in your spring pack?

I'm using all the leafs except the overload. So now front and rear have blazer stock rear springs, the 4 leaf pack in the rear was sweet but just a little too flexy. what do the 56s come out of?

Oh ok I thought you had 56s!

They come off 3/4 ton trucks. My 56s are off a camper special so theres 9 leaves so im trying to figure out which I dont need.

Hmm, i wonder if your leafs are thinner? going from the 4 to 5 pack it raised my truckabot a half inch I think. Havent had a chance to see if the flex any different though. I need to rebuild my king pins and get a new alignment

I think there for sure thinner. ill have to experiment with them. I just rebuilt my kingpins last week. Added a shim to increase the spring rate too in the king pin.
