75 K-5 5.3 LS transplant [with pics]

To test them I found a jump and got the whole truck around 2 foot [maybe a 1 1/2:whistle:] in the air at 25 mph and it all landed on the front tires. Pushing the stroke of the bumps about 1/2 way. no distortion of the mounts at all,I think they'll work.

Just picked up a gen VI 5.3 today. It is drive by wire, so it looks like I might have to go with a 4L60e to make it all work. Looks like my output shaft in my 700r4 will fit in the 4L60e ton run the 205. The tcm is separate from the ecm on a gen VI.
Any advice on making this all work.

You will need to add a VSS to the np205 I think. Or at lest with the gen III you do. Not really that hard, just have to have the rear of the 205 milled, drilled, and tapped for a np241 sensor and have a reluctor ring turned to fit the output shaft of the 205. I did alot of reading on how to make the np205 work with gen III motors. I can give you a couple of links if you want

Concidering that your running a 4l60e behind a 5.3 the power is mild enough to run a righthand drop 241 out of a 89-91 .
\Might be an easier way to go.
\Sure, you'll want to get a slip yoke elimitnator kit but at least you won't have to deal with the shift linkage.

I already had the 205 in it years ago when I was driving it. Been told it would bolt right in place with the output shaft out of my 700. And if this goes ok my connection on this motor and tranny stuff will be keep his eye out for a 6.2L to go in there.

Buefchris what did you use for hooking up the oil cooler to the motor?

One more question. What all did you have to do to hook the shaft linkage up on the 4L60E?

I just hooked it up ,no change everything fit.
\You had a 700-r so it should be easier for you.

isnt a 4l60E just a 700r4 with electronic shifting instead of mechanical?

My truck was in the shop for about 2 weeks. They called me to come pick it up and said as soon as they go into prodution, they would give me a call to come back and install a set.
That was a few days after Christmas.
They claim that the sets they made for the frist gen's fit fine [they just wanted to make sure they fit the second gen's too.]
That being said,I don't know what's taking so long.

They just called me Monday. It's in Thorley's shop now getting headers installed for $FREE.99!!:D
