There's lots of ways, high pass side above alt, high driver side above injection pump, or real air compressor in place of p/s pump gear driven off front gear train and then a real p/s pump run off the back of it. This engine is used in so many different trucks and equipment and stuff there are tons of options. Case and John Deere I think both run it and the 4bt but tag it as there own and I'm sure many others.

Didn't look through your whole thread but have you found rear sway bar bushings and links? I just bought a 1981 c30 3+3 dually and I haven't found new ones yet.

I guess I've missed these responses...time to wake up huh?
I had to get the frame off the lift so I could use it for other things..with the cab sitting on the frame while its been on the lift, I decided to keep the engine and trans in place as I still has some mockup things to work out. I took the cab back off the frame and used the cab body dolly to move the bare frame w/ engine and trans in place. It now resides in the attached garage on the house. It will eventually end up in the old shop for the fab stuff, and sand blasting before moving to the paint booth and eventually back in the barn for assembly on the lift. The cab is back on its dolly for easy movability again. I'm playing musical vehicles a lot these days. I have a couple tables full of powder coated suspension parts awaiting that magical moment of assembly!

I made my own links out of long bolts, some steel tubing and a shock bushing kit.
Rock auto has the Delco bushings: I looked them up for a 76 C30, and they fit 71-87

I'll have to look tonight. Napa was a no-go for the rear stuff.

Given that the date lined up with an opening, I'd be down for a build party :waytogo:.

Yes, that was my desire from the outset for this primary purposed tow rig. I find the ride of the long wheelbase CCDRW combined with the 2WD suspension is quite comfortable, far superior to a solid axle up there.

Haha, I wasn't impling that it should be 4wd, just wondering what the plan is.

I am actually hoping to build a very similar tow rig in the next couple years, squarebody, 2wd, crewcab, diesel. And that's all the details I am going to leave for now. Hehe.

I'm hoping the extra 400 lbs up front won't affect the ride much...if so I'll have to get a bit stiffer coils up there.
