Well just keep in mind that the 67-72 trucks can't use the taller radiator, so you have what my '70 has with a fat block.
No it’s still in the truck 30 miles from home hidden waaaaaaay back in the sticks behind a pontoon and an abandoned cabin cruiser. Lol I need to haul off some scrap beside my garage so I can bring it home and strip all the goodies off of it. It will be donating a bunch of parts for Vinces truck.
Good to know! I used the brackets out of my 76 GMC 3/4 ton which had the small two core radiator and a 350. This one is as deep as a four core but has two rows of big tubes and the tanks are huge. Part of me thinks it is going to be too small, and the other part of me keeps thinking it is going to exceed my expectations. I will also have an electric fan on it to help out, so who knows what’ll happen?

Plug wires are installed and I’m pretty sure that I won’t ever build my own ever ever ever ever ever ever again.... EVER...
No it actually wasn’t that bad and I think I could knock a set out in no time now that I’ve built 8 wires. Had to make a custom crimper which actually worked really good once I figured out it’s one and only quirk. Since the jaws don’t come straight together it wants to make a funky crimp on one side, but all I had to do is start the crimp and then rotate the wire a little and it worked awesome.
I hate routing the wires because there’s always that one wire that seems out of place, but it worked out good being able to make them the perfect length. I even put my eBay heat shields.
On that last pic you can see how rich it was running and how bad my exhaust leak was before I tore it all down. Everything needs a good wipe down before it hits the road. And yes I’m changing the air filter... That’s another sign of my crappy carb/exhaust leak situation.

Oh and you can see remnants of the POS moroso valve covers that leaked all over everything too.
And because I wasn’t too impressed with my fronthand backhand blindfolded backwards upside down welding I opted for a couple band clamps at this joint. It’s welded nice for 300 of the 360 degrees so these will seal it up good.
And whatever is in this stuff must give off some argon or something when it gets hot? Made for some nice clean welds! I’m going to experiment with it and I’ll report back.

Haha thanks man! Yeah it has been a long 2.5 years trying to get this done. When I have the money there’s no time and when I have time there’s no money.
I feel ya! I’m in the no money boat at the minute! Thankfully I had a rainy lazy Sunday here so I was able to kill the whole thing by reading your build thread, and a couple drinks!

I go on my 5 days off this coming weekend so hopefully I’ll have some good progress to show off
By Tuesday it should run. Working this week but I went back to 40 hours a week but we are still on our 4 on 5 off 4 on 1 off schedule for this month so I took my 5 days off. I could still get all the OT I want but I’m over it. I hit my breaking point and decided I better back off. Lol
