To all 3 things at once.

It gets confusing for the next person who quotes the main post with 15 things in it and then is stuck dealing with all of it. That's why I give each idea its own post. To keep things simple. I guess nobody else sees things this way, but I sure do. :wink1:

Like a sideways hard stop kinda situation? I'm going to brace it just because I know that if I don't it will collapse just so it can laugh at me. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks man! Can't wait to get it done! I have a ways to go but it's all little or simple stuff now other than the fuel system.

Couple of kids like 12 yr olds maybe younger were riding their dirt bikes as we were heading to a trail. Pretty decent road but got some washout sections. These kids were crisscrossing the road. Sagebrush was tall enough it was hard to see em. Anyway we are rolling along at around 30 mph and bam brake lights right in front of me and my buddy swerved hard. It's not a dusty road at all and I literally watched that block collapse. That pitched his truck hard to that side. Truck rolled. Rear axle moved big time. As he was rolling the axle tore the u bolts free and an axle departed from the truck.

Just burned in my mind I literally saw the block collapse and then that side of the truck dropped and the axle shifted.

So yah brace em up

That's nuts! Hard to imagine it happening but stranger things have happened!
 
Started adding things up in my head. When this thing is done it'll be nice but I hope my wife doesn't find out how much I have into it!
$1100 for the original purchase
$2500 when I "bought" it back from my son.
$7500 engine, trans, doubler, tires, front axle and all the parts I robbed off my parts trucks.
$2200 for the last round of parts...
This stuff adds up fast!

That's why I've been sitting back on my chair and enjoying my $1 step-side instead of getting all crazy about it. It's a much cheaper hobby that way. :haha:

Yeah I don't have much of a choice other than the junkyard. Which is fine. I don't need to have new springs. I just have to find the time to go shopping. I don't think they're open at all on Saturdays and my Friday's are pretty busy. A buddy of mine works for the wrecking company that owns the JY so I might be able to talk him into yanking a set out for me. Or at least locating them.

I could have done it a lot cheaper but I don't have a truck payment like a lot of guys so that opens up the door for some splurging. Not much but some... I was just kinda shocked that I had that much into it at this point.
