77 K5 Just had to do it

Going with the 102" whip. That should bring in all the mother truckers in range on the CB. I've thought about switching to the 102" but I'm going to have to rerun the coax. It's one of the first things I laid out in the truck so I'd almost be better off running a second cable!

I got my Taylor wires {man these are nice} and ES mounts today. Also I removed the Leece Neville alternator and was happy to see the mods done were minimal. Looks like they just removed the back bracket {I have one in my parts stash} and had a custom made deal bolted in place.

Hopefully it leads to Moab and a few other destinations, but I am gonna have to find me a new travel partner first.
Not liking the idea of going solo.
You never know what's gonna happen. It might be the years I traveled alone for work, I dig riding solo sometimes. Got a lot of time to think when we are out in the boonies, no cell coverage and zero other distractions.

But it usually is more fun with somebody else riding along. We are working up the plans for the next desert trip and Ian is back in the sandbox so I've got an empty seat for the ride. You are welcome to ride along with me if you want to go.

Well there usually several people headed that way, and always a few folks hoping to hitch a ride when we get there!
I will keep that in mind, thanks.

Thanks Rob I will definitely think about riding along.

I hope to start on the L29, 4500 swap no later then late March. There is a huge list of stuff that goes along with that obviously, hydro clutch and hydro boost, 241 shifter, in tank fuel pump installed in tbi tank and new fuel lines, bigger radiator and new a/c lines, frt and rear drivelines, new exhaust, different seats and tilt column while I have the carpet/trans tunnel/pedals out. Anything I am forgetting?

Working by myself outside on evenings and weekends weather permitting I hope to have it drivable by end of April ish.

Using the factory injection? probably need to do some intake wiggling
Check/replace the bushings in the clutch pedals

I will keep that in mind, thanks.

We got the same list mostly. So I know exactly where you are coming from. I'm just starting later than you are.

Already installed, post #174. Crossover and hi-steer also.
Hell I even liked that post already. They all run together

That front still open? I ask because a locked 60 sucks to drive on the trail. If you ever have the intention of adding hydro assist, now is the time to drill the box while everything is out of the way
