77 The Black Truck "Ratbag"

Wow the hookers and blow making the rounds even in Canada eh

Yeah...why else would I take a perfectly good running truck and turn it into garage art like everyone else seems to do around here!??? :doah::haha:

It will be out of the party room running or not. Neer always comes first!! :woot:

Rene...I took the front clip off so I could fix a cracked cross member, make a steering box brace and install the hydro boost without having to hump the fenders and rad support with my huge beer belly! "Thanks Mike" :haha:

Slowly getting some things done.

We have had lots of company and the farm keeps us very busy, plus been spending more time with our Duramax and my kids Duramax than I planned on! LOL! :doah:

Mostly what has happed is that I have been selling off my old drivetrain parts that I won`t be using anymore.

Sold my 205 to a guy from High prairie. It is going into a 50 something International with a 454 and 49 inch tires.

Sold my headers to a guy in Edmonton. Using them on a 93 chev truck he mud bogs.

Russell came over yesterday and bought my th400 for his buggy.

Jesse said he wants the old 305 in September.

Now I got some cash to spend on putting the truck back together!

Thanks for coming over yesterday Russ! Good to see you again!
See ya at the party!:woot:

great progress Dean...gotta make money to spend it!
Unless your on the gov't tit!

whats that funny looking iron in front of the 208 and behind the bellhousing????

It's a "bullet proof" transmission whose case doesn't explode all the time.

Martin

Nice shot, but let me get my hands on it, and we'll change that outcome!

Should I just spit the case and see what it looks like... do I need the take the tail housing off first?
I'll take pics and let you guys know what I see. But need a little guidance here.
Wtf should I be looking for??

yeah split the case to check the chain and gears...in a demanding situation (BBC putting hard use on the chain) the chain should have very little up/down movement to it...it should be snug putting the gears on with the chain around them. Also check bearings/forks/and sliders while your in there.

I dont think you can really get an accurate feel for the chain tension when you pull the entire case apart, as the shaft will tilt and lose tension IIRC, as it rides in the tail shaft area.

Well the chain wasn`t the problem!!
And the shift fork pads are in great shape!

More pictures in the garage thread I got about it.

Anyone got a cheap 208 for me! :haha:

I'd give you one, but the shipping might kill the deal. You just need parts right? I could strip one down and send smaller stuff.

Thanks Martin! I`ll find one local,I think my neighbor that sold my kid the Duramax has one. He has a old 82 diesel 4x4 1/2 ton sitting in his field that he said I could have. The motor and tranny/tc are out of it,but he said he has all the parts in his Quonset.
