'78 K10 Build

Check the toe, replace the stablizer. We will work on collecting assist parts.

Once you have one, you know why everyone has to have one. Its, like required or something like that. I would find it hard to rock a SB after having my BB for so long.

One time I had a piston that was sticking on one of my rotors and it was doing kind of like you're talking about. I just took the piston out and polished it and the bore on the caliper where it goes with a Scotch Brite, put it back together and it started acting right.

Took the K10 out to my buddys farm this weekend for some testing. Found out my front driveshaft is too long and bottoms out sometimes, so that has to come off and get shortened. Yes I have to shorten my shaft. The truck is a new animal though, holy crap. Just crawls up anything in its path (unless there is mud/clay in the tires) :doah:. Can't wait to get it to Tuttle again.

So here I was driving along the (what I thought was dry) somewhat dry creek with no problems until I park the 60 on this giant mound of dirt I didn't see coming.

After that, it didn't move an inch without a tug from HINZ28's Duramax.

I finally get out of that mess, and continue up where I was headed to get out of the creek. "Hey you should go through it again, but the other way" OK.

This was the nastiest clay mud ever. It just packed everywhere and didn't clean out. I have spent 12 minutes at the power washer and its not even close to clean yet.

I HATE MUD

Beat the crap out of it and the only thing that gave was my front push bar.

Marty will be happy about this, although I'm happy I took it off. It looks so much better.

Got this for $20 including a alternator. I'll get around to it.

Sounds like you do need that big block after all, wheel speed is your friend in that situation. Take it from me, 4LO 3rd gear and don't let off :waytogo:

I used to love mud in my younger days.............now, I agree with you :D

The truck really looks great :waytogo:

Who's spring plates are those on the front, and info on the serp setup ?

Can't tell you how much I hate mud after this. Power washed 2 times and still caked plus it has started to take new paint off :(.

Spring plates are from ORD. Serp setup is off a TBI engine and should be a direct bolt on.

I agree about mud. And for months afterward you'll continue to have crap fall in your face anytime you're working under the truck.

Haha, I love mud, like was said, 4LO 3rd and push the pedal through the floorboard. I really wish I lived by a place like that, I would constantly have my Burb stuck and muddy. And you should be careful until you get your shaft shortened. It brings the suck vice gripping your t-case to your tranny and holding the shifter with your foot to get it on a trailer. Twice.

And that body style in white is my favorite. I had the chance to buy one almost identical to yours with the only exception was this one had chrome mirrors and bought my Suburban instead because of a womans opinion. Regretted it ever since.

Already took the shaft in to get it shortened and repaired . Turns out just one time out with it blew the CV part of it. U-joints looked to be ok still.

I think these old rigs look good in just about any color, other than really bright colors, but I am kinda partial to white. :D

This is a little late of a post, but I don't know if you have figured out more about your death wobble. Death wobble is inherent in the design of a kingpin 60. They truly were not engineered to run big tires like what we put on them. There are ways to limit the wobble, some of which have already been mentioned like checking the toe, having a pretty good stabilizer on there, and even getting a new spring and bushing kit from ORD (those are the cheapest and easiest), but it's always gonna be there when you start putting big heavy tires on there. One of the best ways that just about everyone says to "get rid" of it is go with hydro assist.

When I did my 52 spring swap and moved my axle forward 1 inch, I noticed I had the tendency to get death wobble a lot more (whereas before I didn't really have it at all). It's not all the time, but every once in a while if I hit a bump just right while breaking it starts. IMO, just do what you can to deal with it for now, have fun with it and wheel it, and start thinking about and budgeting for hydro assist. That's exactly what I'm doing.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again....I love the look of your truck. :waytogo: (P.S. Sorry for the long post)

Went to Kansas and met up with thatK30guy on here to trade my 3 24 bolt H1's for 12 bolts. Very cool guy :waytogo:Thanks again for doing the trade!

Also got this NOS 205 shift knob.

Now I want opinions cause I can't decide between white or black. I have pics of the tan, but it doesn't look right on a white truck.

The new bolts are black so that might look weird on white too.

White looks sweet, but black looks tougher.
