'78 K10 Build

Let me know what you decide and what you want to sell me. Maybe give me a ballpark price on them as well. Do you have any 16.5's laying around that you wanna sell?

I told you, just come up here and pick up a set of the 4.10 geared axles. You'll have to pull the front axle out from underneath a '76(?) K20, but the rear axle is already cut out. The price will be cheaper than any of the ones posted on SCR so far.

As for wheels, I don't have a set of 16.5" wheels I really want to get rid of. Search Craigslist. They're cheap.

so you're going to ditch those nicely painted rallys???

Unfortunately yes. I have to agree with Martin, ugly 8 lug>pretty 6 lug. Although I think the 8 lugs look pretty badass.

Alright i'll talk to Paul and see when he wants to come with to help. Might be sooner than later with how much noise something in the front is making with the hubs locked.

Little update: We got a bunch of snow last night so while I was sitting at a stop light on the way to work, some chick slid into me and hit the cab, but all it did was put a little scrape on the paint :haha:. Tough SOB this K10 is!

Did you ask her for a blowie?

Tell Paul to come buy my old man's Ford, make it a two for one.

Martin

haha she was a hoodrat and had her hoodrat boyfriend with her that had a bandana on.

It's going to be hard to pry Paul away from his woman to actually do something :haha:

Picked up a whole column out of a '90 Silverado for $15. Its a lot more comfortable to drive now. Pretty glad I did that too, cause when I took the wheel off of the '78 the nut was finger loose and I didn't even need a puller to get it off. :eek1:

I can actually tell a slight difference from doing this. It seems to be a little more responsive. I know its a gay air cleaner, but it was cheap and at least now its actually filtering the air going into that nasty dirty carb.

One of my favorite things about old trucks is the space in the engine compartment! Ive got a pic of me sitting where my engine was when i took the boat anchor out :D that air cleaner doesnt look bad, spray down the rest of the engine compartment with some degreaser and it should look pretty good:waytogo:

Were do you work?

Nice shop.

Lexus of Lincoln. Being able to use the shop and the lifts is the best part about my job.

I saw that pic actually haha. I kinda want to spray all of the crap out of it but I'm nervous I'll get something wet that's not supposed to be wet. Or do I have nothing to worry about?

You got one of the most spray friendly engine bays to work on... not much to go wrong in there!

I Worked at Ford dealership when I was 17,I was able to use the shop for my own stuff but the one you got is way nicer.:thumb:

The worst thing you could spray would be the distributor getting water inside of it. It shouldn't happen anyway, but if it did, you would know. It won't fire. Pop the cap off and dry it out.

Nothing to worry about, spray away.

Martin

Ok I will spray it off.

The more I look at these CUCV grille guards, I want one.

Alot of people like the cucv grills, I for one cant stand them :dunno:

Yeah, I don't care for them either. Go look at Wade's if you want to see what one looks like in person.

Martin

Hmm, I like this one but I liked it even better after I took it off:whistle:

Decided I wasnt a fan of the grille guards, they are plenty stout though. Mine killed a deer and was used to pick up the front of the truck with a forklift:doah:

Truck looks good both ways!^^

This thing doesn't do too bad for a stock rig. Climbed right up some big ass piles of snow.

oops...
