'78 K10 Build

And since it would be just a backspace correction, and not actually pushing your current wheel/tire out 2" further (more leverage) then it's a little better...

Not sure if we were talking about the same thing, but the part I mentioned about ending up hubcentric.. I meant if you were lucky enough to find some of the IFS dually spacers. If the ID is different that your current hub OD, I could make some rings for you to keep everything hubcentric if needed.

I've never seen these dually spacers, so I don't know id they require tapered or flanged nuts, but even if they are tapered, ensuring good concentricity with the hub via rings is definitely not a bad thing.

This is all kind of conjecture at this point, but still worth considering.

At the very minimum, the 2" spacers can be a good mockup, and the very first time they do something funny and you don't trust them anymore (If it even happens at all) you have a good starting point, and you'll have the opportunity to "tune" the setup.

Just like we did with our trucks overall, sometimes you gotta build it once to know how you want to build it twice. :)

Yeah I know what hubcentric means. I guess I'll just try it out and see what happens. I plan to eventually get a DRW 60 anyways.

Sorry hope I didn't come across as patronizing.... You guys probably don't know me well enough yet but I can get a little long winded about crap that everybody already knows lol.

Apologies!

I was curious though, and think I might have found a pic of one of those ifs dually spacers..

Seems legit...

Yes they are. Do you have your spacers already? Please tell me you are going to paint those wheels white.....

Then see if there is a way to get your hub cabs to clip on.......

Not yet, supposed to have em Wednesday. I might paint them, but im just going to put them on for now.

I didn't notice until I got home but 3 of them are 24 bolt and 2 are 12 bolt wheels. Kind of a bummer, but oh well.

Weird. If the spacers aren't going to be here till Wednesday, you have plenty of time to paint them......

I know, I might. That's a lot of work though. Taping off the bolts would suck balls. That would probably look pretty damn sweet.

Mike should buy a 24 bolt wheel and trade me for a 12 bolt wheel so he can have a spare :)

That's not the worst idea you've ever had.. I still have my heart set on one of the one piece steel h1 non beadlocks for a spare though for a little weight saving.

So it just hit me that I won't be able to actually use these H1 wheels to their potential until I modify the "run flat" inserts in them. Kind of sucks cause that is going to be a LOT of work. I might just run them as is for a bit. Idk..

Run as is for a couple weeks. At which point, the novelty will wear off enough for you to bolt your other wheels back on and have these in work for a couple weeks. And, If that raised area outside the lug pattern is the same diameter as the normal steel wheels, i bet you could just weld 4 separate 2" long beads on the outside to mimic the raised areas that the hub cap grabs onto on the normal steel wheels.
