Here is the tank installed. However I might have to move it back a little because of clearance issues with the Mag Hytech diff cover and the tank at full bump.

Ok guys, time for some poll action. I rendered some different light setups for my truck and would like to know what you guys think looks best.

I posted this question in another thread, but not to many people replied, so I hope it works better here...

current LED setup:

Reason for the change is, the LEDs are great flood lights but don´t give me enough distance, so I need some kind of HID to fill in the distance.

#1 (current LED setup plus 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Compact Xenon pencil beam)

#2 (current LED setup plus 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Xenon Euro Beam)

#3 (2x BD Squadron wide cornering + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Xenon Euro beam)

#4 (2x BD Squadron wide cornering + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Compact Xenon driving beam + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Compact Xenon pencil beam)

#5 (2x BD Squadron wide cornering + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Xenon euro beam + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Compact Xenon pencil beam)

#6 (2x BD Squadron wide cornering + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Xenon euro beam + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Xenon pencil beam)

#7 (2x HIDDEN BD Squadron wide cornering + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Xenon euro beam + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Compact Xenon pencil beam)

#8 (2x HIDDEN BD Squadron wide cornering + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Xenon euro beam + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Xenon pencil beam)

#9 (2x BD Squadron wide cornering + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Compact Xenon driving beam + 2x Hella Rallye 4000 Compact Xenon pencil beam)

I like the looks of #9

Don't want to hide the bowtie. Really though they all pretty good to me!

I think #1.

Thank you!

Whatever works best.

Well, everything with 4 HIDs would work the best, especially the larger the reflector is.

Stock headlamps.

Martin

Hm... I don´t think stock headlights were an option in this poll! ;)

1. I´m talking about auxiliary lights, to add to the headlights.
2. I already have the best headlights money can buy but still want/need more light :saweet:
3. Why on earth would I want to go back to the candle like stock headlights that are pretty much useless outside of town!? :dunno:

true, that is why I´m leaning toward something that still shows the bowtie too... but still gives enough light output AND still looks decent enough to not disturb the looks too much...

AND EVERYONE, PLEASE VOTE IN THE POLL ABOVE SO THAT YOUR VOTE CAN GET COUNTED IN!!!!! THANKS!!!!

if they have that red ring around them none would look right. youd have to take care of that somehow

DUDE NO WAY?!?!?!?!?! gotta have pics of that!!!!

maybe I called the radio the wrong way... this is what I meant by push button radio:

so the buttons to change the stations. There are 6 of the buttons on the radio. I thought that was the base radio...

anyway.. looking superb!!!! I wanted to drop an 08 6L in my truck to pass emissions and may do so in a year or 2.. but time will tell...

Thank you! Good luck with your swap! What transmission will you run?

I will paint the rings and back of the housing (so the red parts) black to make the whole lights black to blend into the bumper better and be less obvious, or body color. Sure the red looks off, that is what I could get from google though to mock up in MS paint and how the lights come from Hella! ;)

that is what the black halogen 4000 looks like, so the big ones would look like that in black:

the smaller ones would look like this black:

I´m just interested in the placement and size of the lights...

I like it without any of the big round lights :dunno:

That is fine, so you can vote for the "current LED setup". :D

i like the way it is now the best, but if you are gunna add lights to the front, i like number 9.

Thank you! I do need some "long distance" lights and the LED can´t provide that. So in addition I would at least need some round light to give some depth to the light throw, or replace the LEDsall together for some HIDs.

Thanks for the votes!

I didn't see the pole for just current led setup.

#1 says current plus hella..... :dunno:

Edit: it's at the bottom

This is how the tank sits now. But I have to remove everything again and move the tank back to the very back of the frame rails in order to clear the mag hytec diff cover at full bump. The way the tank sits now, the cover will hit the tank about half way through bump travel.

The thing hanging on the wire is the rear ultrasonic load leveling sensor for the adaptive headlights.

I´ll also replace the aluminum tank straps that came with the tank with some stainless steel ones.
