Not much of an update, been waiting on parts to come in the mail and old furnace can't quite keep garage warm in these temps lately.
Been mocking up shocks and had to cut rear frame to clear shocks at droop. Not the prettiest setup but it'll work for now. Hopefully this weekend it'll be sitting on its. Also bolted up the hydroboost brakes and cut up the tube cowl hood that the previous owner built. Hurt me a little to cut up the cowl but it just wasn't fitting with the rest of the setup. Decided I'm going with flat hood.
I plan on running full doors and body skins and hood. Unsure if wanna try to keep shock hoops under the hood or bump them up thru with longer tabs on axle. What do you guys think?
It was pretty easy since cage holds it all together. Clearance was definitely need with 18" shock travel. Gonna have 12"-13" of droop, 5"-6" up travel.
Front shocks mocked up. Only flexed one side tonight, ran out of time. I got all 18" of shaft showing on drivers side tho. Hopefully have rear mocked up tomorrow night.
Got the rear shocks in last night. Its rolling on its own weight! Big step in the right direction. I still have lots of welding and bracing to do but suspension is finally complete.
Supported the front shock hoops. Tried to follow the lines of the cage a little for what its worth. They feel solid now, I was surprised how much twist the frame has before the supports were in.
Not much done but every little bit counts. Only get a few hours a night if I'm lucky, 8-12ish then up for work at 6. Fun fun. Still more in thinking stage than doing lol.
Got the front driveshaft rigged up. Not sure how long it'll last but it'll get it moving with no money invested. Ground on the double cardan some to get 35° of movement out of it. Nothing binds up at full droop.
