Why do you need a '73-'75 windshield frame if you are not going to use a factory top?
Martin
That's a good question Martin. Technically I don't. Having both in front of me I see the exact differences now and I see what Steven was talking about. However, Issaam warned me the roof is the only rusty piece on the tub because the PO had left a tarp on it sitting for years. And it appears someone had one of those 80s sun visors on there with the holes in the roof. We figured I am cutting the roof off anyway so its a good candidate.
However, the upper right corner of the stock windshield frame is too far gone where it seals to the windshield to leave it. I'll have to replace it with at least a section of windshield frame. I figure, if I am going to do that work I might as well look for the correct unit. I passed on the other one thinking I didn't need it, but I regret it because of that one corner.
Also, after seeing the rear seat and room for the kids in this 85 I don't think I can justify the work to stretch it. I think it would be a lot of work and then I I would need to customize the soft top too. It would add a lot of time and expense for not much gain, though I do really think it would be quite awesome, I don't think I have the time for that right now.
