Much better mock-up of the 79 headlights and grille with the 87 front clip. This is getting much closer to being mounted. The grille is going to stay put while the fenders, hood and headlights tilt forward.

Seriously, lots of folks convert 81+ trucks to older front clips to get the round lights. If you’ve figured out a good way to do it you might consider documenting a separate write up on the swap.

Well it’s kinda frankensteined as the headlight bezels have been trimmed and the grille and headlight buckets are cut loose from the core support and it doesn’t exist anymore.

Ever since I was a kid I wanted a pickup with a tilt front clip. Then I worked on semis for 10 yrs and it's the only way to work on an engine.
I agree mostly.
Working on the front of the engine is a pain though, radiator, fans, water pump etc.
