79' GMC C15 - Spruce Caboose

79 GMC 1500
Yea that's sorta what I do with this one now. Got it pretty dialed in except I never let it run the full course of the high idle cam, it seems like you said, where it would wait til it was fully warm before releasing so I just tap the pedal after a minute or two to kick it off the cam.
Yup, I never wait for a long time. And having to tap the pedal to get the cam to drop is normal, as far as I know. Every once in a while I have had one drop if it was set very lightly and the vibrations let it slip to normal idle.

And congratulations on the new place!!

Just in the process of doing final home inspections. Also found out the shop has all the infloor heating laid in the concrete, i just need to get a small 20 gal water tank heater and recirculate the water with a small pump on a single zone.. Should be easy enough. Keys come on the 5th, itll be so hard not to rip the truck apart until winter time haha, but i will need to find another daily.

Trying to organize my junk I've collected in the basement.... is kind of tad terrifying to move but it'll be worth it. Couple hours of organizing and I've started collected simar things in bins.

Ahh no fun. Best part about that story is you ended back in Moab!

Not quite. I'm back where we lived before Moab which is about 2.5 hrs north. Close enough and waayyyy cheaper. Someday I'd like to make a road trip up to BC and see your neck of the woods.

Ahh I gotcha. Well cheap and close doesn't sound too bad!

If ya ever do let me know! It's worth checking out for sure.

Nice! Corvette rings too!

Yea I didn't know what was specifically different, but I was thinking that the trim rings were wider than the ones I have remembered seeing on a few trucks.

So I've been shopping around for a headlight conversion kit, the roads all around my new place are without street lights and lots of deer around. I'd feel more comfortable driving these roads at night with some good lighting. I don't want to have blinding HIDs or anything , but something bright, been looking at these hella ones since they have really good reviews..

Anyone have any do's or dont's?

I have 2 trucks with those and one truck with the E code versions. I like them and they have better beam control than cheap LED units. Granted, they don't throw as much light as the good LED headlights, but they didn't cost as much. And I am not ready to make my 2 old trucks look different with LED headlights.

I think that you will be surprised at the difference with the Hella pieces.

I like my conversion Hella headlights in the crew cab and the C10. I bought the E code version for the C10 and I do like them better.

You can also find Hella bulbs for them that are 55W low beam and 100W high beam. 55W low beam is normal. I have them in the C10. I have heard the 100W bulbs don't last as long, so we'll see.

I've also done the relay upgrade to the headlines in the crew cab and C10. I did that at the same time I did the Hella, so I don't know how much they contribute.

I have the LMC version of the Hella conversion and they are a nice upgrade. I also did the relay mod as well. They are still halogen bulbs in a housing designed for them so there is a defined beam cut off which is important not to blind other drivers and something most LEDs lack. But put on the high beams and it's like daylight in front of the truck.
