Glad to see I’m not the only one that uses plywood to roll transmissions around on the gravel :D

Maybe someday I’ll have a concrete pad with an outdoor hoist. But that’s about all I could pull off.

Verified the output shaft stick out on the transmission was good. Will have to tack weld my np205 shift tab to retain my jb fab shifters. I was unaware of this somehow. It’s pretty guarded in that little pocket. But it will work.

I’m gonna try and use the advanced adapters relocate bracket for my jb fab shifters with longer rods and the ORD magnum single stick.

The advanced adapters relocation bracket had some bad reviews in the past, for being flexy. But mine looks like a redesigned model or something cause it’s thick AF and has some welded tabs strengthening it. I’ll post up if it’s trash though. I’ll test it before it’s in the truck as well.

I’d like to retain lever and rod shifters. I know the cables shifters work. I just don’t want them.

IMG_2788.jpegIMG_2784.jpegIMG_2786.jpegIMG_2804.jpegA few more pics and where I’m at today. I need to get a few sheets of wood to roll the t-case to the truck. I struggled the transmission over there on a furniture mover. But that won’t work this time.

My shift lid shifter bolt holes were cracked. And I never noticed. I think I damaged it moving it. I don’t want any issues so I ordered a loaded lid from all trans. 450$.

I will add a brass T in the sight tube for the magnum and run a vent up to the firewall. Ill do the same fo rthe 205 and nv4500. might as well do it right.

Will need to figure out the cross member next. I have a 730$ rebate card from my Jeeps new BFG tires, so I can order a new front shaft and have the rear shortened easy. Excellent.

If I wanted my fuel tank in the bed, does anybody think this is a bad idea? Safely move my current tank? Or purchase an EFI fuel cell? I’d prefer to move my current tank. Under my toolbox and secured/covered.

I only clocked up 1 position on the case or I won’t be able to route my exhaust. And the O-ring seal, perfect!

Any advice on the cross member or fuel tank will be much appreciated! Maybe re-use the current cross member somehow???

I want the fuel tank moved because it’s close to my axle, and I don’t want to build a skid plate. And super easy access to the pump if need be.

Front drive shaft ordered from Tom Woods. 1350 series 2” .120 wall

I had a '72 K5 with a small square tank in the right rear corner of the bed. I hated losing that space and it was annoying to fill, IMO.

I have a fuel cell mounted inside my bed mounted toolbox…I like that I don’t have to worry about smashing it on rocks

Is one crossmember all that’s needed with a magnum? For some reason I thought it required two

Things changed a few years ago. All four mounting points are used anymore.
Even with my 203 doubler, Stephen told me to only use one set of mounts.

I asked ORD this on the phone also just the other day. And asked about venting the magnum. They said one set of mounts, even the stock style np205 mounts will be good.

Just make sure to have a skid plate over as much as possible. Do not want to hit the 205 and crack the nv4500 or magnum.

They also advised venting all my gear boxes up the firewall, even if they share a vent tube. Just go up high.

My engine mounts and transmission mounts are both urethane and the same manufacturer, which they said is key as well. Not so much that they’re urethane but matching materials.
