'79 K10 Step Side Rusty Rex

79K10 Stepside
I have a Warn M8000 winch to replace the China winch. Just need to go pick it up and install it. It belonged to my father who recently passed. :frown

I'm digging your stepside! It makes me miss my 85 I had.

What size are your swampers? They look good.

The engine in this pile was drinking engine oil. Pulled it out. Thought about a 5.3. Just rebuilt the 350 this time.

ORD crossmember used to replace my broken factory unit.

I assembled the engine myself here at work. It took me 13 weeks to get the bare block back from the local machine shop. They had every excuse under the sun. They sent the crankshaft out to be turned and whoever did it must have been drunk, it was literally unusable. I gave it back to the machine shop and got my money back for that portion and ordered a stock replacement SCAT crank from Summit for 226$. It was perfect on the gauges. Cannot wait to hit the snow trails soon in this thing.

I will be running flex a lite's Mojave heater in the cab.

Here is my cobbled shit mess cab. This is my dash , I have to be selective with my effort and money. That's my excuse. I literally just replaced all those Equus gauges with autometer units, much better. The Equus temp guage melted in short order and the fuel gauge was crap also. I will add some pics as I go.

I also went with 4 kicker 6x9's run of a 1200 watt amp behind the seat and 4 6.5" kicker speakers run off the deck in the doors and in front of the seat in small boxes. Sounds decent for a ghetto stereo. Pioneer head unit with no CD player but all the Bluetooth USB AUX AM/FM for 65$ on Amazon. It's loud, I will say that.

I’m liking your truck too! :waytogo:

Worked with a guy in the 90s that had a brown lifted step side that looked a lot like yours does.

My big black shaft from Full Torque arrived. Seems legit. Also some pics of the shackle flip and my Mojave heater.

Need to update this better.

Stoked for the upcoming Proflo4. I have learned it is also known as BroFlo.....

Will take pics and add my success to the broflo buddies alliance. Or BBA as I beleive we should call it.

I scored those 56" springs from FB marketplace for 150$ used but never installed. They are the 1950LB rated set for a C10/suburban they are actually soft and smooth for having 7 leaves. They have the Teflon pads also.

I did end up installing WFO's 1/2" thick relocation block and a 2 degree shim on the rear axle to set the pinion 1-2 degrees below the slope. Both the WFO parts are beefy steel. I chose the 1" moved back setting I am running Ruff stuffs spring plates and they were already drilled for it.
