Raining day today so didn't have to work out on the property so I took advantage of the time before the Duck game...

Thank goodness for friends that have resources...

Then I was able to to get some add-a-leafs and zero rates on the front springs (my low dollar solution). It is dead nuts even now.

Now, with the bigger tires on the horizon this may have to be built.

Just read through your build thread. You are all over the place with this thing! Sweet truck, and all the options you have considered would be good, but I'm with the others saying this thing is in too good of shape to cut it up and thrash on it. My vote would be to keep it more streetable and drive it frequently rather than make it an off road thrasher.

What size 38s are those and what size rims? I've got a set of 38x15.50r20 that I could run on mine, but not sure I love the 20" rim for a K5. I've also got 16x12 Mickey Thompson wheels I've considered throwing some 38x14.50r16 Toyos on and running those. I like the look of yours on the 38s (when the lift height was a little lower), so I'm trying to figure out your tire/wheel size for comparison. Thanks.

The rims are 16s... I believe they are 9" wide.

Definitely go with the LMC rubber kit. They some with ALL of the hardware. The poly kits do not.

No, I did not enjoy the game... worst part is that Nebraska's head coach (Riley) was the former head coach of our state rival OSU. That loss hurt.
 
Yeah, we are well aware of where he came from. It was just nice to see the coach on the other side making the stupid decisions for a change.

Ha, and he did... that he did. We need to get Helfrich out NOW. He is putting our program into the dirt.

Not a huge issue but now I have to come up with a solution.

Not hitting the spring but DAMN close. I havent cycled the suspension but my gut tells be it'll be an issue.

Pretty sure the zero rates are going to have to go unless someone has a good solution for this. Now I'm kinda back where I started with the leaf spring/height/level issue.
 
Have you checked your caster angle yet? Or are you not worried about that?

I only ask because that could effect this if you need to add a shim
 
I've got a similar issue. I'm running the same set up with the ez inch the tie rod just barely clears the springs but it was hitting the spring plates so I ground the edges of those down a little to clear

Interesting... I could grind those plate pretty easy. Have you run into any issues at all?

I will eventually use a shim but have purchased them yet because I was not sure where I would end up as far as lift and where the transfer case will end up with the addition of the doubler. Might be time to mock that in.
 
I can get some pictures of mine. Are you using 52" springs? I've got shims on my axle too

might want to think about machining the EZ-Inch rather than stacking an EZ-Inch and a shim. Unless of course you ditch the EZ-Inch.
