finally getting some chatter on this thread which is really starting to motivate me.

Now I want to put the rockwells under it. :)

I decided only an idiot would ditch a dana 60 in favor of a Dana 44 so ordered up some knuckle rebuild kits and continued tearing down the the D60...

I also decided that running a d60 with 4;10 and 38s is dumb so I'm pretty sure I'm using the doubler too. If the gears suck or that the front end being welded up drives me nuts I'll do gears and lockers but I thought I might as well give it a try as is.

Mama is leaving with the kids next week for spring break which gives me a few good evenings to myself to get the old drivetrain pulled from the K5.

Do it to it!
Wrenching is a pretty good way to spend a "spring break" .... not the best...but still pretty high on the list

Update from last night...Glad I pulled this thing apart, it's a mess. Got a bunch of rebuild stuff coming from East Coast Gear supply. I was really hoping to have this thing on the tons before my wife got back but I'll be happy later when I know its done right. I'm not looking forward to pulling those kingpins though.

More updates after the progress tonight.

Forgot to add... Lower kingpins suck ass. Had to beat the sh*t out them (spin them) to get out. The lower bearing races arent fun either.

Can someone that has done a 52" swap give me the ride height to this spot in the middle of the fenders (front/rear)?

I knew that those rivets were going to be a pain with my old air hammer so I found myself a decent one at a local pawn shop.... this one made short work of the rivets:

That's as far as I got... the Oregon game is on so I'm probably in for the night (might go back out and hang the shackle flip). Overall I'm happy with what I got done in the last few nights. What I should have done was taken a few days off while mama was gone to get more done.

Go Ducks.... up at half. :)

A good air hammer is very helpful.

I would provide you some numbers but I have 52" 2" lift springs in front and 57's in the rear.

In the front I'm 31" from the center of the axle to the bottom of the fender. Or 48" from the ground to the bottom of the fender.

In the rear I'm 27.5" and 44.5"
