79 K5 H-Bomb build

Is that an airline seat - brownish? Looks really narrow. But then again I'm kinda wide.. lol

Little progress update:

Got my tons back loaded with1410 yokes, 5:13s, and ARBs. Got to clean up the 14 bolt and I'm going to use new calipers, rotors, pads, bearings on both axles... Replaced the kingpins too.

The front ORD brace needed to be notched in a couple places to fit around various lines but overall pretty easy install:

Added a new PSC hydro box:

Then I went to rear again... dropped the tank for the shackle reversal.

Looks like I'll need to re-route my exhaust too... not a big deal but something else to add to the list.

Also picked up the gem for $400. No idea what I'm going to do with it but it has a kingpin HP dana 60, big block 460, and a 10.5 sterling rearend. Price was right so I couldnt pass it up.

I like those better than the DIY4X one due to having the bolt head cut outs, making it smaller in diameter.

Artec also makes a similar one.

Still plugging away at this thing... managed to mock the axles there to figure out actual ride height and think about what tires I want to run:

The rear shackle angle sucks... not sure what to do about this. Those are 4" rear 52s with 6inch shackles and 2.5 reversal.

Can't tell with the dark photos but your flip brackets may be flipped around for 56's

It would be worse if they were flipped the other way. The shackle reversal drop is biased forward. It's nearly straight up and down... Nearly inverted.

It could be that they're 4" lift 52's therefore "shorter" with the arch. Most run stock 52's or 56's with the flip kit.

Doh... Didn't even think about that. Maybe I'll have to look into 56s. What do I need to know about running 56s in the rear? I'm happy with the general lift/height as I'm eyeballing some 41.5 pitbulls.

You'll have to flip the brackets again so they're pushed back more for the 56's.

Might want to look at some ez inches and 1" body pucks so you can limit the trimming.

Already have both the pucks and easy inch... Not looking forward to dropping the tank again but I'll do it if the 56s are worth it.
