79 K5 H-Bomb build

Nice rack.

I've been tripping over metal so I appreciate that setup.

Decided to push her back out and take a look with the new tires and suspension. Pics make things weird but it sits pretty level.... still a bit tall but WAY better.

Ordered my steering stuff from WFO. Holy Shit... talk about customer service. Trevor was so freaking helpful, took his time with me, explained the best way to go about everything, and tailored made my order. I'll do business with them again for sure.

Trevor and the crew are great people.

So what all did you get?

Basically got what you have... double ended arms with the 5 stud holes on each side, tie rod kit with heim joints, bent drag link kit with tie rod ends, the hydro assist axle mount, and a few more ARP studs/nuts. Probably a couple other things I'm missing... He said the biggest challenge was going to be how to mount the the shocks. Not a huge issue, just takes a bit more work to make everything to fit.

I'm thinking about pushing the front leaf springs ALL the way forward now that the steering linkage isn't an issue.

Yes, the shock packaging is very tight with the reverse high steer. I used DIY's adjustable bump stop brackets which are nice but also pretty bulky and limited my options even more with shock tower placement. I basically just butted the shock towers right up against the bump stop brackets which I moved forward on the frame as much as I moved the axle forward. You may be able to make something else work with a different bump stop arrangement or you may be able to go straight vertical with an outboardeded shock hoop like a lot of the Toyota guys use. I did the outboarded shock hoop on the front of my 88 Ranger and it worked great and the kits are very affordable but that build had traditional high steer and a different bump stop arrangement. Something you might want to look into though.

Do you mind take no a couple pics so I can see what I'm up against?

Yeah... I have spoof Facebook account... Borris Morris. :) I can try to find you.

On another note. I screwed up. I was trying to do the XJ steering shaft conversion. Of course I bought a brand new shaft too. Should have just gone the junkyard route for this mistake. Anyone know which part I got wrong? Looks like my stock shaft is different than the ones I saw on the threads/videos on the conversion. I want to ditch the rag joint... need to do some more research it looks like.
