8 lug 10b front end rebuild... *DONE*

FREAKIN' DONE!!!!

I smelled a little something when I got back from my test drive but I think it was the grease residue that I wiped off the rotors... nothing was smoking,

anyone else find that funny?? good job avery. When I saw the thread you were rebuilding the front end I got a lil excited to see if you were finally atempting to set up gears. But hey its good you got some more hands on experience. Oh and way to rationalize and justify not checking to see where the smell was coming from :D but your prob right

haha yeah I see how that sounded funny now that I re-read it... I did get under it again after my test drive with a flashlight and touched everything... like I said, nothing was too hot to touch with my bare hand and nothing was smoking or "sizzling" :)

id recheck your grease and bearings right after pismo. Every time i go there, there is sand in everything, including the bearings.

What he said.

The guy who owned my Ranger for 5 years before I bought it in 2003 LOVED the Silver Lake dunes and was there every weekend it seemed like. You wouldn't believe the amount of sand we found in the front end.

FREAKIN' DONE!!!!

I finished the driver's side tonight and got it back on all four tires! Just in time too... we're going to Pismo on Thursday!

How long are you planing to stay? I plan to get out there Saturday if I get the chance. I don't want to miss you because you go home the day I get to the dunes.

Damn, I got to go work on my blazer. It is already Wednesday.

I'm packing up tomorrow and hitting the road when my dad gets off work (around 3:00-4:00pm) and we'll be there through sunday...
I believe you still have my cell # but if not I shot you a PM...
