(80 K25) "Nigel" 3/4Ton of Fun

If you use too many shouldn't it still self balance?

What gear ratios were offered for a 81 k30 dually. I got a line on a front d60 I'm going to go pickup this week. The guy didn't know the ratio. Research says they had 4.10s or 4.56. I'm hoping it has 4.10s so I don't have to regear it but for the price I won't pass it up.

The truck is a big block auto dually.

Ah okay. The list I found says those weren't offered until 84.

Check out GM heritage, they list all the options for each model year. I saw 3.73 listed under the k30 Dana 60 info. 4.10 is probably the most common though.

I did some things. The girlfriend got me a seat cover for New years so that got put on. We will see how long it lasts.

I also pulled a d60 today. Never in my life did I think I would be disappointed an axle had 4.56s but I am. I guess living with no over drive changes you. I'll have to regear it or trade for a 4.10 one. Either way I finally have one

Transmission swap might be cheaper.

Can tell you 35's 700R4 and 4.56 = 2200 at 65 roughly and RPM's are so low I feel like I should stomp on it here and there to clean it out running RPM's so low around town.

A true 37 or 38 is all you need

I remember being younger, making less money, and thinking 33"s are all I will ever need. I wouldn't mind going up to a 38/40 if I ever splurge on 17" wheels.
For now I'll stick with surplus 37"s.

Technically speaking 33"s would do, but those arent cool

but....a 700r4 only uses 2 pedals

H2 wheels are cheap!
Sometimes, other times people think they are made of gold
