80's short box, "S.E.R.E." Box permanently attached to the cab.

You can see what he started with here before bending them around...

AH SO. Missed it :doah:

Sorry to be a PITA again, but could you post the pic via your photobucket account like you did all the others so us non-members can see it. :doah:

TY ryoken

Are those spacers permanent or will they be removed. They don't appear to be tacked in place.

They were meant to be temporary but they don't budge so I think to simplify things, I'll go ahead and weld them in. The front and rear will be boxed in, inbetween hanger and frame rail. None of the spacer will be visible. Nothing wrong with a touch more support.

Rear suspension coming together.

Pile of leaf springs. I think we're a week or worst case two from a roller.

Whats that bracket for on the cart....

:pimp:

That's the second one i've allocated for shop usage. One we have set up for front axles and this one will be set up for rear axles. They're just so damn handy!:thumb:

Kert do you plan on stretching or repositioning the wheel base? Or are you leaving all the mounts including fush in the stock postion?

The SFEH is in the factory location.

The front hanger was installed according to dimensions we have found work well for appropriate shackle angles taking into account the weight of the engine. From the SFEH forward the front spring eye bolt is 51.25".

While technically the hanger is not in the factory location, and if I weren't using a Dodge 52, the axle would be "relatively" in the factory location.

The rear spring front hanger is in the factory location.

I built the shackle flip this evening and intend on installing that tomorrow. The shackle flip is a bit different than our standard offering. Of course its a weld on and due to the fact I don't have a fixed location on the frame to work around determined by a bolt pattern, I built it with a centered bushing. It will be applied to the frame correcting the shackle angle at the same time. 1" further forward than the stock pivot point would normally be. Same as is true with our standard shackle flip.

So far, everything is coming together pretty smoothly. I am thouroughly enjoying the fact that the Generals influence has been largely removed from my build process. At the same time, drawing from the experience of the years spent with the Chevy frames. There are alot of things that could be done differently if a person wanted to. I find when thinking things through some mods while solving one issue could easily develop several issues regarding something else nearby. Alot of things i've considered doing differently have been shelved for this very reason. It'd be real easy to dig yourself into a hole and cause a lot of rework if you're not careful what changes are made.

Before I set it down on some axles, I want to have the very front cross member in as well as the rear most cross member and the rear cab mount installed.

I have the cummins engine cross designed up. Probably have that tacked in as well but don't know exactly where that will end up. I'll have to make an educated guess based on Stompers truck.

Rear most suspension hangers are tacked on the frame.

Looking really good! :waytogo:.

I do agree that when making major changes it can be easy to get yourself into a way deeper hole then one planned to be. Just what you have done will be miles ahead of what these trucks originally had.

Frame is off the table and a rear axle in place.

Got the front axle slung under it tonight as well but didn't grab a picture of that.
