80's short box, "S.E.R.E." Box permanently attached to the cab.

We can do the hole and the gap between tabs any dimension needed. So, whatever you need them to be really.
 
All I managed to accomplish on this one this weekend is pulling the front axle and getting the bushings pushed out of the springs.

I'm thinking tomorrow night I can have some bushings back in the springs and the axle back under the truck. That will allow me to finish up the hydraulic assist steering and the front brake lines.
 
Axle is back under with all the little things addressed that I had intended on doing later.

I did spend a few minutes putting the last piece of aluminum into the shaker scoop.

Is the hood hole flimsy?
Does it need some reinforcement?
 
Whens the last time you fired that thing up?

Fired it up before I bought it and everything was great. Since then I've tried to start it up on two separate occasions without much success. I'm thinking when I did the dowel pin fix, I must have gotten the injection pump on out of time. Can't imagine anything else that might cause an issue. Replaced the lift pump and bled the fuel lines several times but no luck.

Is the hood hole flimsy?
Does it need some reinforcement?

So far its pretty good but I plan to add a little support to the hole.
 
This is a shot of my overhead electrical console. The idea here is, I can get this mounted to the truck, overhead from the Driver's seat, pull it back out and do all my wiring, relays, switches, distribution posts and whatever then slip the whole works back into place and reconnect the harness and be ready to go.

You can see the .5" by .5" grid of punch marks. Those are to make it easy to make nice neat rows of electrical components.

The one you see in this picture.... Well, let's just say I wasn't thinking things threw very well. it's backwards. The Radius should be on the opposite corner or in otherwords, this one is backwards and a complete loss. Replacement has been cut and is just about to be fitted and bolted in.

I'll keep it around for a while and if it doesn't come up useful at some point, it'll go in the scrap trailer. I'd like to say I never make a mistake but it just aint so.
 
This question may have already been asked, but there are too many reply's to read through check if it has. Are you going to make your frames availble for sale?

I was thinking of building something like you are building because I have sick of having too many classic cars and trucks, which I put a lot of time and money into, crashed and totaled because some parkinson diseased old fart, or ghetto scum crashed into it. I would like to build a truck so hard core tuff, that anybody that crashes into it is going to die, and my trucks frame will drive away without a scratch. Each one of these vehicles I owned on average for 10 to 20 years before somebody eventually crashed into it.

List of cars and trucks totaled:

1970 SS 396 Chevelle
1970 GS 455 Skylark
1977 C30 454 Chevy/Duallie
1982 K30 454 Chevy/Single
1985 K30 454 Chevy/Duallie
 
I can reproduce this frame. I could also produce the mid 80's crew cab, and if need be the 80's blazer. Beyond that, i'd have to find a frame to draw dimensions off of.
 
My crashed 1985 K30 Duallie is sitting in my shop next to my V3500 Crew Cab, and when I get done with my Crew Cab project, which I am in the middle of, I need to start stripping the drive-train out of the K30. I am going to chop-up the bent frame on it, in order to throw it away.
 
Is it a single cab? guessing so.

Yes it is a single cab. The cab and bed are still good. The only bent sheet metal on it is the left front fender (inner fender). A liitle piece of crap hyundai hit me head-on while sitting at stop light. The little rice burner went under my truck (by-passing the front bumper), and came to a stop on the left front frame rail. It pushed the frame rail back on the left side hard enough to rip out the engine cross-member rivets. Too bad, this was a Las Vegas original truck...no rust, and was complete right down to the casset track AM/FM stero.
