82 K30 3+3 "Krusty" Parting out.

Mitch might be interested in the front end stuff, and hanger brackets if you part it out.

Yeah I remember you mentioning that to me. I am undecided on what to do with the frame still.

There is some stuff I would be interested in. Let me know if you do end up parting out the rest of it. Thanks Martin!

If the weather cooperates I might go and pull some interior and trim stuff off to sell this Friday. It's stored at my buddies house because I simply don't have the room for it in town so I can't tinker on it as much as I should.

Fenders and bedside skins will probably find a home on my trail rig. Matt Lynch is interested in the 350 ( I am not even sure what to ask) Mitch is interested in the front axle. The TH400/205 shouldn't be too hard to move.

That's kind of what I was figuring. Going to strip the interior and try and keep any "hard to find" brackets, clips etc to sell. Need to make some $$ on this purchase so I can put money back into my other purchases. Plus rifle season is quickly approaching and that's gonna cost some too.

That sucks to find out all the bad in it. Your buddy must have not exactly known what to look for.
Oh well good combos.

Eh I wasn't too concerned for the price. I didn't even ask him to look. I just asked if he could pick it up and wired him the money. Plenty of good parts just not any of the body. It'll make good trail rig skins.

Yeah, I would have bought it sight unseen for that price as well.

Martin

Paypal to a buddy who picked it up for me. I was in Japan when I bought it.

Still haven't done anything with this junker. I deploy again in a month or so. I need to get it moved to my house. Me and a buddy were talking today about ideas for it. I might just hang on to it and see what the future brings.

So moved the truck to my house this weekend.

Found a cheap rust free cab in Montana and the seller is going to hold on to it for me until I get home from deployment. I have a complete 89-91 front clip so all I need now is a clean short box and this thing will be clean.

Not positive on a build direction still, but I have 6 months to figure that out. I am thinking 35s to 37s radials depending on the gears in the axles, new motor (EFI), NP241 swap, 4" suspension, 1" body lift.

The idea I have right now is a family rig that we can take up to the mountains in the winter, hunting, camping etc. Offroad capable, but still drive it to work on Monday.

Krusty will donate front fenders and cut down bedsides to the trail rig.

Well it's been a minute since I updated anything, but I am home from Japan again. Before I left I had negotiated a deal with a guy on a solid cab for this hunker. He agreed to hold it for me until I returned from deployment so while I have some time off I figured I better get to work.

4 days of disassembly followed

All tore apart. Any decent part that could be salvaged, reused, or sold was removed. The rear seat and dash are actually in pretty good shape. All the glass minus the windshield is good. I found 22 bee's nests during the destruction process. Thankfully it's cold and they were sleeping.

All loaded up and ready to go get the new cab.

Some "new" skins for the trail rig :)

I may even go back to running full doors since I have a matching set..ish.

Old cab on I90 east Sat morning.

New cab on I90 west Sat evening.

It was a fun trip. Traffic wasn't bad. We saw about 50 elk in Montana and Idaho, an Antelope in MT, a couple coyotes, and countless deer.

New cab. Solid metal, but every window except the pass side rear door was broken out.

Finally got this thing home and stuck it back in my mud pit of a side yard.

The headliner board is in good shape. Score!! Also noticed it has a 6 digit odo.. kinda wierd for an '83 cab, but who knows.
Another decent rear seat.
