It seems everytime someone asks about my truck they ask that question. What kinda mileage that thing get. I always answer with about a day per tank. Then again my rig never travels on the road, unless its up to the beach on a nice summer day. I should put a working fuel gauge and speedo in it.

I was just wondering if you would make it to the lake before running out of fuel
The only real "decent" lake around here is Lake Dillon which is only about 70mi away but Eisenhower pass eats most of the fuel up. Stupid 7% grades![]()
I have two lakes within a mile, so getting to the lake is no problem.![]()
I like slalom skiing, so I like small lakes. The two closest to me are about 600 acres and 1200 acres, I like the 600 acre lake better, smoother water for skiing.
But I have driven it to lake MI several times now to go to Silver Lake. I still have 2 16 gallon tanks, so about 30 gallons of useable fuel at 9 MPG highway I could go about 270 miles if I wanted to push it, but why? Silver lake is about 220 miles for me.
I wish i still had a picture of my k5 towing my dads boat with no top!
Man i got so many looks and complements that day
I still tow this same boat with the truck, although this picture is 6 years old at my parents old place.

So how do you slalom behind that beast?
Like this...(although that picture is pretty darn old, it's the only one I have on my computer).

Seriously though, I like skiing behind it, you just point the jet down a little with the diverter lever (not quite all the way) and the V is so shallow the wake is very small, it's white, but it's small. You can fly through that wake like it's not even there.

Yeah pulling out skiers/wakeboarders is not a problem, for beginners you have to back way off the throttle as to not rip the rope out of their hands or pull them over forward. But once you get used to it, HIT IT, you're up and out immediately even on a double booted slalom ski. We've pulled three skiers out at the same time before with these boats (Chevy powered jet drives). On a wakeboard you don't want full throttle.
uhhh what wake?

That's a good point, on a wakeboard it get's kind of boaring because you can't really get much air, but air was starting to hurt anyway, I could never land one of these behind my friends 28" boat, I could land on the board, but I would always crash after the landing.

(the date was off, but that was probably 2003, still old)
Nice. I can land backrolls pretty consistently, but tantrums i'm like 50/50
