Seems you would want to build it for your purpose and not care too much about what everybody else wants.

Good cheap start

up date

pick of rusty spring pack is 56s in rear with 2 broke leafs ,also has 454,400,205 picks to come . planing to replace 56s with good ones and use rear spring, front mount for rear to get rid of the 6" block. Got a performer intake ,770 off road carb, (250$) any one know if you can instal a cam without pulling the rad support ?

my diesel cc dose every thing i want , I just love to build these chevys and had some of the parts .

Cool build, I don't remember your name but we met about a year ago at a meet and greet. I would build it for a full on rock rig so you don't risk tearing up the other one. I'm parting a couple M1008 k30s so let me know if you need anything.

Rock rig Scott!!!!

Like a big beasty rock rig. You got a nice driver time to build something to bash up a bit. Well bash up alot and survive the beatings.

Let me know when you get ready to bend tube:D

Yeah Scott, I say rock rig! I was way surprised to find you let the CC I got slip through your fingers.

more pics

OK rock truck it is, got the DIY welded bead locks done. I think ill put the tube doors and rear disk brake kit that i won at blazer bash on next then start on the big block. I think I need to put a larger cam in it to performance out of the other bolt ons. What kind would work best for a stock BB with performer manifold, off road holly, headers? Also lookin for 4.56 and lockers front and rear, its got 3.73 in it factory i'd love to trade gears out of a cucv army truck.

I have a front 60 from a cucv available with less than 18k on it. I may have my rear cucv guts available soon with 67 k on them. I also have some of those spring hangers for your flip if your interested. :D

sixb let me know with the 14 bolt guts (R&P with locker) I hope . D60 may be to big for my budget . I got the hangers from my cc thanks for the help . BTW I got a 400,208 I could trade for some parts .

free 4.56 or $ 5.38

gutted the 14 ff tonight ,shaved the lip off the bottom and installed the free DIY disk kit but still cant make up my mind on what cogs to run , Boyce equipment will trade me my 3.73 for 4.56 for free or what i would like to do is install 5.38 so I wont need a doubler .Free still means 300$ in master instal kits on the 4.56 front and rear to set them up but 5.38 is the 300$ plus cost of gears (missed out on some used ones on pirate 4x4 yesterday). could just run the 4.56 for now and install a doubler latter or black box but that dont grove with the budget build .what do yall think . more picks latter

Mine was a real dog with 4.56s and the 208, the doubler really woke up the truck. Not sure if 5.38s will eliminate the need for a doubler but if so I say go 5.38s and save the coin you would have spent building a doubler.
So is it gonna be a trail only rig?? I would at least twin stick the 205 for front digs, that can be done for free.

5.38 it is

Bought some new 5.38s for the 14ff from all pro off road for under 200$ and sold me a bearing kit minus the shims for fifty bucks .grate deal I thought .he says the front gears will only be 160+ bearing kit ?can't make up my mind on a front diff that is on ksl d60 ,5.38 ,arb 1700$ . Also do I use me mig to weld the rear diff up or I do have a stick welder ,can't find the link of the write up on that.I also bought new center pins for the 56 in the rear , old ones were bent do you think I will need to add a block with the shackle flip to mach the 6-7in on the front .
