'83 K5 6.2L Diesel 64" rear springs. 3/4 ton axles. rear discs. Boring but works!

Still got to check out the light issue but I swapped out the bad/leaky vacuum pump and she's ready to roll. I drove it about 10 miles to work today and it did great. Whipped up some 1" spacers for my t-case crossmember and installed them on lunch to try and get rid of a driveshaft vibration. We will see how they work on the way home. I'll update later with my list of crap I need to get done before Blazer Bash but as of now it's gonna be my DD to make sure it's good to go in a few weeks and to put some miles on it.

That's where mine went on Gregs suggestion. Great spot for me

Yes the white smoke/stumble is better with the idle turned up a little higher. Need to tweek the high idle solenoid adjustment to get it to actually go to high idle and that should be fixed. Black smoke is sometimes better sometimes not but I'm not gonna worry till I run a tank or two of fuel through it. Been driving every day 10 miles each way to work and everything is working perfect. I lucked out and the swap to 4:10 gears and 35s my speedo and odometer seem to be pretty accurate. I'll get some new wiper arms ordered next week and I need to do new v-belts and retorque u-bolts and lugnuts before the bash. I will make some bump stop spacers for the front at work one of these days and also finish up some shackle tabs I am making to weld to the front and rear bumpers. I will probably just run with no bump stops or limit straps in the rear til later on and just be careful with my shocks. Tomorrow gonna go do some wheeling with my land cruiser buddy. Not sure where we will go yet.

Yes I think all is going good so far. Need to just work through all the maintenance crap like hoses and trans service and stuff that a 33 yr old truck needs since its been sitting so long. I've got a lead on a 60/40 front bench out of a 88-98 chevy extended cab truck. The pass side moves forward for rear seat access. It's even blue to match. Waiting for the guy to let me know a price. That way I can safely fit all the kiddos.

Yeah I'll see what happens with it. My factory buckets are way nice and I like the flip forward pass seat but I don't want to spend a lot of time and money looking for a center jump seat to go with them right now and this 60/40 bench is here local and hopefully cheap.

It's worth a shot.

My only recommendation? Wear a seat belt when offroad. Bench seats, and off camber angles suck when not wearing a seat belt hahaha.

I bet they do sliding all over. LOL. I always wear one. Sometimes it seems easier to take it off when wheeling but I have seen too many people get ejected for being an idiot. I will prob swap back to my buckets later on unless I really love the bench.
