'83 K5 6.2L Diesel 64" rear springs. 3/4 ton axles. rear discs. Boring but works!

No big updates just been driving it every day. I love driving older vehicles. So much more fun than my super duty. Got 13.6 mpg on the last tank including doing blazer bash for 2 days. Gonna take my parents on Hells Revenge in the morning since they are out here from WI.

Have they done anything like that before? They are gonna trip. I bet it's way more intense being a passenger, actually. lol.

I would think so...

Luke are you going out alone? I dont advocate singluar wheeling much, so be careful
Yeah I normally wouldn't go alone but it's close to town and has cell service and I'm just going to show them around a little and nothing extreme. I got people I can call and I'm sure there will be some tourists up there too.

So since I am jealous of you getting to go play in Moab on a Thursday,,,,,
I have to be a pain and ask if you missed all of us out there ?? !!

Of course, it's definitely not as fun without the whole bunch out here. Lots faster to just cruise through but not as much fun. There was a jk a cherokee a rzr and 3 land rover's out there and that's it.

A wise old man aka @bent72 once said "young Skywalker if you must remove a leaf and only run two in the front regret it you will" or something like that. Well my two leaf packs were kinda starting to look like a one-hump camel. So with mama and the kids outta town I tore into it tonight. I didn't want to put the original stubby stiff third leaf back in and I had some old f150 rears springs laying around so I found a leaf that was longer and thinner that would work.

The new leaf has a bigger center pin hole than the 5/16" ones on the tuff country springs so when I was out of town today I picked up some 3/8" center pins. I tore one side down at a time and drilled out the two leaves and installed the new one and reassembled. The driver side spring perch was a little wallowed so the center pin head fit good. The pass side I had to remove the spring front eye bolt and move the spring and drill out the perch to a 37/64" bit I had. All went well otherwise except now I'm back to a good cali-lean to it. Maybe I'll paint my fenders white and call it a pre-runner.

Well, if I just was doing a big ass nice truck I'd either add a leaf or go up in my block height for the rear but since I take it wheeling and it's pretty tall already the plan is to either go down a few inches to a 4" lift spring in the front probably next spring or do a 52" spring swap to get the front lower since I want the truck to have some stink bug look to it.

Wait a minute!
We aren't done giving you grief on how you can go wheeling in Moab whenever!

You can't take that away from us!
:rotfl:

But,,, congratulations and good luck!
