If you can weld you can fix it, just takes time. I did it all with a sheet of steel in mine.

just saw this, you dont need to take the engine out for a cam. Take the radiator out and do it right in the truck.

well I want to take the engine out to fix all the little leaks that it has, and clean up and paint the engine bay. figured just put the cam in it once its out.

you mean the floor pan? yeah I can weld up the holes and fix it all I was just worried that the floor pan was looking really thin but I see what your saying.

makes sense :thumb:

and I kinda wanna find a manual transmission for it idk if it would be easier to install with the engine out or mount it to the engine then put it all in but that was another thought still haven't decided on that though:dunno:

so im wanting when all is said and done im wanting to bed line the floor pan and the bed what have you guys used? i was thinking that herculiner stuff you buy at oriellys has anyone used that is it good? or is there something better? i want it to be glossy and textured idk if herculiner will do that or not?:dunno:

I used raptor liner and prepped like crazy and it flaked off in some spots, not sure why but i would avoid it. Ive always liked duelings

If I use extreme do I need a special gun or will a regular paint gun work? And IV heard from other people who have tried raptor they said they didn't like it either.

Has it held up pretty good? That's a really good looking blazer!

I did it almost 2 years ago. I remember because I sprayed it on the night before the dunes opened and that's april 1st.

Held up fine so far. I have carpet on top so it doest get really abused per say. But I have a strip on the tailgate on the outside of the glass that goes down an inch or so. So its always been out in the sun etc, and its not all faded and peeling or anything.

Nice thing is that it comes in basically 3 gallons (2 gallons of bedliner, 2 quarts of hardener, 2 quarts of reducer, and 2 bags of the crumb stuff either heavy or fine). I did mine with half the kit and the fine crumb, and I have half a kit left. So im thinking when I do my cage, and cut holes in the floor, ill see if its possible to wash what is there up and do another coat, so I don't have raw steel, and extra protection.

And thank you, I like it. :thumb:

i think most of the kits come with a special gun that gives it the texture.

my kit came with a special gun and it shot out the paint in clumps to give it the rough texture...

Edit: yea the gun looked just like the one you linked.

Hmm, must have been the undercoating too. Because my buddy has shot the plain duplicolor undercoat out of it and it dries completely smooth.

huh, i just assumed it was the gun, but yea maybe it was the undercoating too. Either way, i would pick up a cheap gun to do it through, i wouldnt send it through a nice one if thats what you have.

I'm probably going to use that stuff when I get to that point it looks really good on yours, what carpet did you put on it? I found some at LMC truck but they want 400 bucks for it didn't know if you found it cheaper anywhere?

And yeah I was wondering if id need to buy a gun, I might just get that cheap plastic one, I'm probably never going to use it again. So a half kit completely covered your interior with half left? Well I was wanting to do my axles springs and frame with that stuff too and the inside of the engine bay id probably have to get the (don't remember what it said exactly) the full kit?

You buy the whole kit. I just only used half of it, and a pretty good coat as well.

So I still have half left that I can mix up at a later time :waytogo:

And I got the carpet for $50 from a guy on craigslist that had it in his garage and wanted to go grey. I wanted grey, as everything else in mine is, but im not one to give much of a crap about the looks of the interior lol.

just for another picture heres one of mine, it came out good but i probably had to work harder then dueling to get there because some spots flaked off and i needed to clean it up again and repaint it. once i did that it stuck good and i hit a few spots with a hammer and chisel and it didnt wanna come off so im glad about that

Edit: and i also dont use carpet, i just see carpet as something to absorb water and form rust underneath, but i also use my k5 as more a toy so i dont car how loud the interior is because for me thats part of the fun.
